Estrada is Supreme Court material. Since the Dems "own" big blocks of "women", and some of the "women" equate "Freedom" with "Abortion Rights", they do not want anyone except a liberal available in the future.
If Estrada passes here, they would have great difficulty stonewalling his nomination as a Supreme Court Justice. This is about the bigger block, WOMEN and their vote.

Teddy on his horse about Iraq. Teddy is a moron...besides, why attack Saddam? The RATS are PRAYING for another attack on America so they can blame the President. They are about POWER, not country.

Official Tinfoil Hat on, maam.....Lets see how this goes:
1) Estrada worked in the Clinton Justice Department;
2) As a conservative, he was probably asked to write memos which were in opposition to views to be held by the Justice Department in order for the JD to be ready to deflect those views in court;
3) Hillary! is quite aware of the existance of memos which are, in all probability, in opposition to Roe v. Wade, Affirmative Action and, for all we know, in agreement with Dred Scott;
4) If the White House releases the memos, selected parts can be released out of context (leaked?) to show that Mr. Estrada is "out of tough with the mainstream"; and
5) The White House will be put on the defensive trying to explain why Mr. Estrada is so whacked out.
Tinfoil hat off......Actually the above is not too far of a stretch. Having a Senator (Hillary!) who has probably ordered a judicial candidate to write memos which, if released, would be the equivalent of an arrow through the heart makes me very suspicious of the motives. If the Dems win and the memos are released to public distain, the Pubbies are toast. Period

"I did some checking on Estrada's Resume and found: 1992 - 1997 U.S. Department of Justice Solicitor Generals Office, Assistant to the Solicitor General."
Thanks for the SG list, swheats :)
Hum. So, Estrada was in the SG's office in '92-'03 when Ken Starr was the SG. Do you supopose she associates Estrada with Starr ?

I really enjoy listening to him. He seems so gracious and polite - I remember noticing that during his last debate before the election.

It is not tin foil hat IMO!
I believe you are correct! And would also bet she has those memos but won't show them because that would be obtaining them by illegal means.
Also found out he was in the Solicitor General's office during the Paula Jones lawsuit arguments to the SCOTUS.

Thanks for the senate email list. I just sent both of my Rat Senators the following email...
What exactly have you and your co-workers accomplished today? Have you voted to end poverty, enact a prescription drug program, save the environment, defeat Osama Bin Laden, toughen UN relationships, open free trade etc.?
The answer of course is NO.
You and your co-workers have instead decided to take your paychecks and run. I see a few of them at different times on the Senate floor, trying to blame the Republicans of obstruction. But you and I both know the truth.
You are sitting in your fancy office laughing at the thought of keeping a Hispanic off the US Court of Appeals.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
As I said yesterday, and will say everyday until this charade stops, you have every right to vote NO to Mr. Estrada, you have no right to basically stage a "sit in" at the capitol.
Have a nice day, Tracy
Do you think either will bother to reply today?LOL

Why not ask Hillary to reveal her written recommendations while working on the articles of impeachment for Nixon/Watergate. She wrote that Nixon should NOT be entitled to legal representation. Her boss revealed her incompetence in a book he wrote. Can anyone remember the title?

hehehe. A 6 martini lunch, no doubt.

I wonder if when The Swimmer get's up there and start his hot air machine, if the senate begins to smell faintly of Jack Daniels? And has anyone checked to make sure that's really water in his glass beside the podium?

I would say she definitely associates Estrada with Starr and then you throw in the Paula Jones lawsuit and you have Hillary Clinton in full combat mode to tank this nomination.

It's Saxby Chambliss, he beat incumbant RAT Max Cleland last November.
Man, the name Saxby Chambliss is a perfect name to conjure this Yankees image of rural Georgia. Beautiful land, friendly folk if you behave yourself, the Allmans playing in the background and Jack Daniels in the tumbler.

I sure hope that Hatch gets the floor later this evening. Last nights show was outstanding.

That's what this is all about anyway IMHO. They're gonna fry Estrada simply because he worked for Mr. Starr, who the RATS see as the root of all their problems. So this is their way of getting back at the GOP for the Clintoon impeachment.

That's what I asked yesterday.
I don't believe these memos are of the "This is what I believe..." type. Aren't they asked to write position papers based on interpretations of law or precedent, or just take opposing views in order to anticipate arguments?
It would be very easy to take one of those memos out of context and pass them off as Estrada's personal views.
