I was thinking that too. I really didn't see the point of his news conference and I wondered aloud if he was sending some sort of message to Iraq.
As a side note, do you remember when Bush Sr. deliberately mis-pronounced Saddam's name so that it translated to "boot licker".Apparantly it infuriated Saddam.

According to the Windows clock Baghdad is GMT +3 and PST is GMT -8 - therefore Baghdad is 11 hours ahead of PST and 8 hours ahead of EST.

Husband just reminded me - another UN report due Feb. 14th; perhaps we'll wait until after that. Foolishly, in my view.

"Of course now that he has become a Prime Minister his party will throw him out in the street."
Probably true, but there will be books and movies and lots of babies named after him, not to mention the international elder statesman mantle long hanging on the hook.(Doesn't Oxford have an opening too?)

Hmmmm? The UN is expecting Blix back next week - Monday ?? - after meeting with Iraqi people Sat and Sun. - I haven't heard when Blix will give report any earlier than 2/14
If we have to wait until after 2/14, that means the 48 hours could begin on Sat 2/15.
But ... I always remember what our President said, "those who know aren't telling".

The news broke on KFWB news radio in L.A. about 3:15 in '91. I was taking a make-up test after school, and my mom picked me up about 3:30. She told me that they just started broadcasting the info on her way to get me.

You are correct: phase of the moon doesn't matter much. Nevertheless, "we will rule the night."

"...it will be so it can be during prime-time TV."
That was Clinton's tune, the grown-ups are running this one and might wait until all the kiddies are asleep.

I dont think we should attack yet.
wait for him to do something.
then when and if he does, the US and Israel can nuke them into nothingness.
Ummmm, it would be better to wait until it becomes a nuclear exchange? I think that sounds like a flawed plan.

Yeah - George Herbert Bush used to pronounce it "Sad am". I noticed for a while Rumsfeld was mispronouncing OBL's name too but don't know the purpose or translation.

I heard about the new moon theory, but the cruise missles and 117s don't need no stinking new moon. Plus as we did before soften them up with a few weeks of bombing the moon them Different sort of war, different objectives. It's very different this time...
