Husband just reminded me - another UN report due Feb. 14th; perhaps we'll wait until after that. Foolishly, in my view.

No matter what, there are so many conflicting signs out there now that Saddam won't know whether he's coming or going. Hehehehe..

"another UN report due Feb. 14th"
Since Germany and France have rendered the UN as officially obsolete with their song and dance, why wait? I think it's popping.

Yeah, I agree that we'll wait until after that "report", but not because of it, or the moon. My read is that we don't quite have everything in place. I think we're within 10 days of that, though.
Again, my read is that less moon is better for us tactically right now, but that is not of major import mehinks since Saaad-dam is not likely to be real surprised at any time now, and must be on about the highest alert footing he's able to be anyway.

I'm HOPING that Blix will have the good sense to announce that this futile game is over, and all the inspectors have already been extracted and flown out of Iraqi air space as he speaks. (And I would expect that this news would be no surprise to the Bush administration.) And then it will be a matter of days or hours, not weeks, and certainly not months.
