California: Democrat Governor Davis will be served with recall papers on Wednesday
San Diego KOGO AM600, Roger Hedgecock Show | Feb 4, 2003

Posted on 02/04/2003 4:08:54 PM PST by John Jorsett

Ted Costa, of Paul Gann's group People's Advocate, just announced on the Roger Hedgecock Show in San Diego that a People's Advocate process server will be serving recall papers on Governor Gray Davis on Wednesday, February 5. Costa and his group has been involved in over a dozen ballot petition drives and has qualified every one of them that's he's undertaken. A recall drive will require around 1.2 million signatures to get a recall election on the ballot.

Costa said that contrary to what most people think, a recall can occur at any time after an election. It's only if a recall fails that a 6 month waiting period must be observed before another recall can be attempted. He cited the case of Paul Horcher, whose recall was initiated "within hours" of his election.

The People's Advocate website is not yet up, but will carry information about the recall effort in a few days.

I'll sign the petition, tell my friends about it and vote for it on the ballot. But it won't matter. Even if 9 out of 10 Californians voted for recall, there would be a Federal judge looming in the background to rule it uncontsitutional.

Nevertheless, if the recall is successful, I volunteer to drive him to the state line in the direction of his choosing.

Perzackly. I have a lot of respect for Pat Caddell. He drove Carvile CRAZY on Election Night 2000, saying that things looked rotten, and he stayed with it. He was one very unhappy Liberal Classic.

This is not a GOP revolt but more far reaching... It could help though and then maybe people from the granite state won't rag on the people who will save California....

No, No, No

We need Davis in there in California as a shinning example of what happens when the Rats control everything

Come on California Republicans suck it up and stop all this recall nonsense.

Think of it as Taking one for the team.

Thanks for the ping. Just think. A few years ago Davis thought he was on the fast track to the presidency. Now he's on the fast track to be tarred and feathered and run out of town.

Agreed and given the dems in a dem state, the whole thing will be rife with corruption. The dems in a bad situation are like wild pigs.. or criminals... cornered.
They will stop at NOTHING to get away. This would have hugh repercussions nationwide. You just know the dems are not going to give up California that easily.

I went to the People's Advocate office this morning and signed the original petition that needed only 65 signatures to start the recall process. I was number 74 and there was a long line behind me.
People are mad. I think this thing has a real chance.

I'm still wondering what percentage was voter fraud.

Anyone know who the other name on the ballot would be?

Too bad the signatures can't be nationwide. Anyways you guys should pull some tricks out of the dems books. If you want your signatures give some booze to bums, bribe some of the millions of illegals. You'll have your 1.2 mil in no time.

It will be interesting indeed who the CA-GOP would support if the recall sugnatures are gathered and an election is held. It is a winner take all election and anyone can run.

Note , however, that party affiliations and endorsements would probably mean even less then they did last election.

IMO, I don;t think Parskyites and the current power brokers would have much sway, not that they should anyway, as disconnected to reality as they have become.

We need a political reform to happen in both major parties. Don't discount the enviroweenies either, if this thing comes together. And Cruz'in to Aztlan Bustamante and all the illegals may be shipping in as many more illegals as they can to keep the public troughs open for the po' illegal folks.

Yup, it could be a real shoot-out.

In case anyone has not heard, Davis has vetoed or has threatened to vetoed this tripling of the vehicle registration fees... It's dead.

I think prop 13 is the real target... Someone told me today that there are 3 separate measures in Sacramento right now that are aimed at increasing property tax on commercial property. Well, we know what'll happen if one of them passes... bit by bit, they'll take the caps off all the property, first commercial, then high value personal property, until we're all paying huge, inflated amounts.

A lot of people, particularly the elderly, will lose their homes.

Nope. Politicians learned real quick, it's a death wish if they mess with prop 13. That will wake a sleeping giant.
