More stupid tile questions.

Not first time there has been debris generated that has struck the underside of the wing! He has explained this over and over again!

If they mention tile, I would tell them to read the transcript! I don't know how he puts up with all these dumb questions.

As for the tile that fell in Fort Worth, he said that the tiles are so light that it might not have followed the debris field.

This would be, FAR and AWAY the EXCEPTION and NOT the rule.

We have just a few sketchy reports of debris west of I-35. MOST of it went south and east towards Palestine and Nacogdoches.

His argument does not hold water given where the bulk of those tiles have fallen. Of course, remember, his statements are preliminary - and he's not tied real tightly to the field ops taking place here in Texas.

The problem for these reporters is that this time last week, most of them didn't even know the shuttle was in space.

Good tile question here . . . ET (external tank) has shed insulation in the past. There is a good deal of info already out on this. NASA did testing related to the extent of damage possible by ET insulation striking the orbiter tiles.

Stuff it with your half baked theories. Seems your closed mind won't let you listen to the briefing that is in progress. Glad you are better equipped to know what happened than anyone at NASA.

Yes I realize that brave men and women will lose their lives in the pursuit of space. I am fine TY.
I have seen a home video from sparks (Reno) NV and one from St. George UT. The one from UT is what I saw. The fireball, then the "flash".
I noticed Nasa put up a screen showing the flight path coming directly over Vegas. I also saw this on a post. Tha actual flight path was much further north, over the test site. I have seen another flight path diagram that shows this correctly.
I was suprised to see NASA just showed the wrong one at the press confrence.

It sounded to me like they used their own database extensively to "game" what might have been the outcome!
