I've seen the end of the breakup at least 200 times now, but that particular clip only two or three. The camera zooms back after a couple of seconds...I'd like to see a still or slomo of it.

"He said he read the report on the air the first time he saw it and so viewers were hearing it at the same time he was hearing it.
He then said that was inappropiate and that the crew are all heros."
Shep has to take the heat for a producer's blunder.

But would you feel the same way if the "best person for the job" turned out to be a Muslim? You are aware that a citizen of Saudi Arabia has flown on a previous shuttle, aren't you?

I have my DV camera hooked up to my cable box and am trying to capture that segment of the video. Unfortunately, FoxNews hasn't shown it again. It's the most important video I've seen yet. If I do get a vidcap, I'll post some stills.

Shep on Fox News just apologized for the report on the mistakes previously made by a crew member. He said it was totally inappropriate. He must have received a heck of a lot of emails, IMHO.
Appropriate. No one knows whether it actually was "her fault" or a shortcoming in the robotic arm. That arm has always been a problem, from the very beginning of the shuttle program.

She means, apparently, that the 'N' in NASA stands for 'National', hence we dont' need any dirty ignorant furriners in our space program... of course, I COULD be reading too much into it...
If so it was a particularly bad choice of wording.
To: Chad Fairbanks
I'm sure she'd prefer that it was the 'National Aryan Space Agency'.

Thank you so much for this beautiful picture. I've e-mailed it to everyone I know.
This is such a sad day.

NEWS CONFERENCE: Live comments...3pm Eastern full tech briefing from Johnsons Space center. A tragic day for NASA family and astronauts families. Immediately upon loss of comm, just after 9am Eastern, advised Pres, Sec of Homeland Security that Columbia was lost at 0916.
Spent next 90 mins working thru info they had received...met with family memebers that were at Kennedy. The Pres HAS called and spoken to families.
They have NO indications that anything on ground caused the mishap.
Team coordinating all facts, rapid response team from Huntsville, KSC and JSC.
Collecting INDEPENDENT people to review all data that was locked down after Loss of Comm. DOT, Navy etc. Chair will be external to all Fed Agencies.

What is WRONG with these people that would use a tragedy like this to further their one singleminded agenda? They're Democrats. Everything that happens is immediately evaluated in terms of how it advances their agenda. Remember the Wellstone funeral.

Well, she's not here now to 'defend' herself, so I'm not going to comment on what she had to say any further... I'm a nice guy that way :0)

Thanks. I'll keep checking back. They'll probably show it again. I also saw it on another channel, but don't remember which one.

Low clouds in the washington area is what I heard. More likely the President needed the time alone to compose an appropriate response.
