I didn't see your thread until just now. Sorry to have missed the action. I taped the speach for later consumption. I slept through it. I woke up during the speach and was able to observe a number of things. Bush was getting standing ovations every few moments. His speach lasted 59.5 minutes and was interrupted over 70 times for applause.

Seated right there in the front was Senator Klinton. The first time I saw her was a moment when she stood to applaud Bush. She was situated right behind about six military personel. The look on her face spoke volumes. She had a great big skowl because everywhere she could look forward, there was a uniform smack dab in front of her. LOVED IT!

I didn't expect everything Bush said to please me. I did see enough of his speach to know that some of it did. I also saw enough of it to know some of it didn't.

As I have always said, I'll continue to praise Bush when warranted and criticize him when warranted. I do not consider him to be a conservative's conservative. However I do not dislike the man.

Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush are supposed to be three of the stupidist people ever to hold the office of President. Gerald Ford was played up as a buffoon and who needs to remind anyone what the media thought of Nixon? None the less, it's the two last Democrats to hold the office that flit from one plant to the next trying to polinate up a legacy. I've never seen Republicans do this, in fifty years of observation. Richard Nixon didn't even do it. Evidently they think they need to. Can't say that I disagree with them.

History is going to be very kind to all these stupid Republicans the left try to trash at every opportunity. Jimmy and Billy will be haunted by their ineptitude in perpetuity.

Bush is okay. He's been saddled with some big problems. He has been a major disappointment. He has been a breath of fresh air. What can I say.

I loved the speech. President Bush really connects well with me - It seems like he really feels what he says - you can just see it all over him - sincerity. Everyone always talks about slick willie being such a great speaker - not to me. I always felt like he was tryin to shiest me. GWB doesn't give me those vibes at all. I feel like he really loves our country and what it was founded on - freedom - what it's all about.

I just got home from work. I caught the speech live on AM at work. Thanks to FOX News I was able to see it when I got home.

I have 2 words to say in response to the speech..phenomenal and tragic!

It was a very powerful speech and tragic to the Dem's agenda!
I have professed it since Dubya' was elected and he hasn't disappointed me yet...IMHO He is definitely up there with Reagan!

I enjoyed the speech, didn't agree with everything, but W certainly didn't leave much for Dims to argue about. He cut them off at the knees (well, except for Daschle, it went over his head).

I was most impressed that W asked for partial-birth abortion to be outlawed, and that many other terrorists have met a different fate. ;o)

This President of ours.......I am in awe....every time he stands before us, he delivers! Who could not be impressed by his conviction, his faith, his compassion, his overwhelming presence. Except the dems, who are so green with envy they can't stand it. I love it!
