MONACO Jan. 22 An American male nurse convicted in the arson death of billionaire banker Edmond Safra escaped from prison overnight, police said Wednesday.
Ted Maher, originally of Auburn, Maine, was convicted of arson in a 1999 fire in Monaco that also killed one of Safra's other nurses, Vivian Torrente.

You know, if you and all of your fellow Ted Maher detractors would just take the time and the effort to read all of the various threads on this subject, you would realize that what he tried to do was save this fella from the fire.
And what they did was twist the story to make it look like he set it when in reality he didn't.
What you have chosen to do is believe a bunch of B.S. and C.F. from a news organization, Court T.V. which from my research has a number of bias issues regarding gun control and left leaning matters.
I have researched this matter and taken a look at all the information and everyhting tells me that Mr. Maher was railroaded.
It's too bad that people like you are choosing not to do your homework and are so set in your ways regarding this story. That's fine with me if you want to believe what you want. Nothing I or anybody else says is going to change how you feel on this.
Regards.

It was involuntary manslaughter, in American jurisprudence, and not "murder." Ten years is still a light sentence.

Monaco leads the world in "public safety cameras". There is no where in public not being watched by alert well paid flics.
Normally I would say head to the water and escape by sea, but in Monaco that might not be possible.
He will never get chance #2 to escape. He's cooked. I hope he likes to read books, he won't get another window cell.

...In related news, the entire country of France has surrendered to former Green Beret Ted Maher!
For those would like to find out more about the story of Ted Maher. I offer to you
This link. Nita Nupress is the author of this article which contains information on Ted Maher and the events which led up to this gross and blatant injustice.
I know this is a long read but if everyone would just take the time to look at this, it might open their mids up a little.

And what they did was twist the story to make it look like he set it when in reality he didn't. Is this the guy that they did 'Justice Files' special on? They said he started the fire deliberately so he could save the guy & his plans went bad?

What you don't seem to comprehend is that the man is nuts and started the fire to try to look like a hero to his employers.
Then to really make it look good, he carved himself up like a turkey.
The guy is mentally ill, I will give him that.
That still doesn't bring the two people he killed back from the dead.
He set the fire, two people are dead from that fire. No one was railroaded but two people are dead.
Do you support OJ as well? I do NOT SUPPORT MURDERERS.

And that would be the point: were not talking about the US Govt; were talking about Monaco. Unless youre intimating that all governments are the same or that Monaco is anything like the U.S, which, of course, it is not; this case has shown, even more so, that Monaco does not seek nor value truth and justice.

Well, frst off now you're getting a bit absurd. What you're saying is because I believe in Ted Maher, I also believe in O.J.
This just proves my point. This thread does not belong in News/Activism. It belongs in the Smokey Backroom.
What a bunch of morons we have here.

I know this is a long read but if everyone would just take the time to look at this, it might open their minds up a little. IF everyone would just take the time to look.....well, I've noticed most of those who claim to know the most about this case are doing little more than just parroting the "official Monaco version" of events, which just happens to be printed by the liberal press [the very press which has shown themselves to be "Biased" or which commits "Slander," and who's words and motives are, therefore, usually suspect].
Not this time: hook, line, and sinker, their spew [a/k/a Monaco's official version as told to the liberal press] is to be believed. How interesting.

Not much difference between Ted and OJ except that Maher admits that he started the fire that lead to the deaths of two people.
Oh yes, and the fact that there are people who still claim that Ted and OJ are innocent because it suits their agenda.

I wish I'd seen this before pingin'...I'd have included it in the pingaroo. Oh, well. Thanks for the ping!
Ted Maher, a former Green Beret originally of Auburn, Maine, was captured in the resort town of Nice after a daring escape from prison in the principality of Monaco, where he had began serving a 10-year sentence for arson late last year.

Fine distinctions, Illbay, but if some would be "hero" accidentally incinerated a member of your family, would you be so circumspect?
