For the story behind the story...
C-Span has decided to continue its practice of covering anti-war demonstrations by ANSWER, an amalgamation of radical left-wing groups that will gather in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to stage a protest against U.S. plans to disarm Saddam Hussein by force.
But the public affairs network has refused to carry the "Patriots Rally for America" counter demonstration in D.C. the same day.
"C-SPAN has covered the last four ANSWER anti-war rallies in D.C.," complained Patriots organizer Kristinn Taylor. "Yet it's shown only one of our three counter-demonstrations to them."
While the ANSWER gang can usually rely on many of the usual Hollywood suspects to lend star-power to their gathering, Taylor said the line-up at the Patriots rally will be somewhat less glamorous, explaining, "We don't have any Hollywood stars, just a bunch of veterans who wish that their voices be heard."
Also missing from the Patriots rally: the Iraqi flag, the Palestinian Liberation Organization flag and any flag representing Hezbollah, the terrorist group that blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 killing 243 GIs. All three flags, however, have been displayed prominently at past ANSWER gatherings.
Actually, for those who aren't viscerally opposed to everything America stands for, the Patriots rally line-up ought to be quite stellar. Former Congressman Robert K. Dornan will address the gathering, after Capt. Frank Davis, U.S. Navy (Ret.) leads off with a reading of Red Skelton's always-moving version of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Also on hand will be African-American Republican Leadership Council spokesman Kevin Martin, fresh from his triumphant appearances on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" and "The O'Reilly Factor," where he sounded the alarm about Senate Grand Kleagle Robert "KKK" Byrd.
Other featured speakers will include UPI columnist John Armor, Aziz Al-Taee of the Iraqi-American Council and Joel Kernodle, spokesman for the group MOVEOUT!
Taylor, who heads of the D.C. Chapter on the group FreeRepublic.com, will be emceeing the event.
For those who want to attend the rally C-Span won't cover, the Patriots kick off their counter-demonstration at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Constitution Gardens on the Mall off 21st Street and Constitution Avenue.

In all fairness, I can't imagine watching C-Span. The novelty wore off a number of years ago. I think the last "guest" I ever watched was Molly Ivens. She proved she had two talents worth mentioning (although I wouldn't waste time writing home about them). She proved she could giggle and spit, sometimes in a single thought, well part of one, since she never actually completed a thought.
The other thing that eventually affected you like a toilet paper commercial was the incessant callers starting some question with, "Thank God for C-Span." What drivel. It has to be 4 or 5 years since the last time I stopped at that insipid station. Thank God there are real outlets for news these days.

Where else can I go to get the full unedited broadcast of the President's speech on the Michigan case, and the full, unedited coverage of the opposition's response, etc.? With another chance to see it again later on in the evening?
Brian Lamb does some real excellent, patriotic, informative, constructive work. CSPAN is great.

If all C-Spann ever did was to show such unedited events, it might be worth another peek. Let me know when that comes to pass.

Not surprised. C-Span has really degenerated over the years.

Sorry to hear that C-Span is still giving the patriots rally the cold shoulder. You were great on the C-Span call in programs I listened to, but C-Span apparently can't have anti-Saddam IRAQIS speaking to the public about Saddams atrocities, now can we??

The liberals at C-Span aren't helping their cause by showing these whacked-out loser freaks in all their glory...
To: Dog
You can start a live thread. I'll be at Constitution Gardens without my laptop. If anyone wants to relay information from our rally and the observance of the anti-war protesters' march to the Marine Barracks, please freepmail any of the DC Chapter member by this evening. We'll be out bright and early tomorrow.

Terrorist love large gatherings. Gee, it would destroy America at it's very roots if the next terrorist attack were happen at the hate America rally.
I SAID....IT WOULD DESTROY AMERICA AT IT'S VERY ROOTS IF......
(Just kidding. I'd support deleting them off the planet, though. Start the millinium of peace early.)

From Chris Core's intro to his show on WMAL, it sounds as if he's going to have someone from the counterdemonstrators on later in his show. He has an antiwar spokesperson on now.

Hi, I have to run and don't have time for another post. If you or anyone else would like to put it up.
Kristinn has been busy today with lots of interviews. He's supposed to go on live on WMAL, Chris Coor's show at 6:15 or so -- egads -- that's right about now!
