Church's sign has Muslims outraged
Florida pastor says criticism of Islam is legal and fair
Associated Press Friday, January 17, 2003
Jacksonville --- The Council on American-Islamic Relations-Florida is calling on state religious leaders to repudiate a Jacksonville Baptist church's roadside sign the group claims is anti-Muslim.
The sign outside the First Conservative Baptist Church in Jacksonville's Mandarin area reads: ''Jesus Forbade Murder. Matthew 26:52. Muhammad Approved Murder. Surah 8:65.''
Altaf Ali, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Florida, said his organization attempted to talk with the Baptist church's officials about the sign, but were rebuffed with belligerent language.
''All Americans must band together to condemn hate speech designed to divide our nation along religious and ethnic lines,'' Ali said. ''Any attempt to marginalize or vilify one religious community is an attack on all people of faith.''
The church's pastor, the Rev. Gene Youngblood, who also leads the Conservative Theological Society and Conservative Christian Academy, said he has been using the marquee-type sign to express the church's opinion for 15 years and has no plans to remove the message.
''First and foremost, are we not entitled to freedom of speech?'' Youngblood said.
Youngblood, who said he is an expert on world religions, said he had been threatened and his property vandalized. He said he has filed 13 police reports since July.
Youngblood said his church would issue a formal statement later.
Iman Zaid Malik, spiritual leader of the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida, said some Christian friends brought the offensive sign to his attention.
''Misinformation must be rejected by all people of conscience,'' Malik said. ''This shows that the vast majority of Americans reject hate and seek a society where good overcomes the evil.''
Malik said the Quran verse indicates that those who believe and are steadfast in battle will overcome much larger armies. It is not an endorsement of murder, he said.
The verse reads: ''O Prophet [Muhammad]! Inspire the believers to conquer all fear of death when fighting, [so that] if there be twenty of you who are patient in adversity, they might overcome two hundred; and if there be one hundred of you, they might overcome one-thousand of those bent on denying the truth, because they are people who cannot grasp it.''
The Council on American-Islamic Relations said the Quran also states, ''whoever murders a person . . . it will be as if he killed all mankind, and whoever saves a life, shall be regarded as if he saved all mankind.''

Jesus preached forgiveness. Mohammed okayed retribution.
That's a load of crap as well. If you look at the Koran it systematically bears witness to the violence of it's religion.
Shall we compare ???
From the Koran, Hadith:
You may already know about this one: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. [al-Ma'idah 5:51.11]
But did you know that there are 123 verses in the Quran concerning fighting and killing for the cause of Allah?
Here are but a few passages:
-Muslims are encouraged to be wholly occupied (Sura 2:273) with fighting for Allah's cause.
- Allah will give "a far richer recompense to those who fight for him" (Sura 4:96).
- Regarding infidels (unbelievers), they are the Muslim's "inveterate enemies" (Sura 4:101).
Muslims are to "arrest them, besiege them and lie in ambush everywhere" (Sura 9:5) for them.
They are to "seize them and put them to death wherever you find them, kill them wherever you find them, seek out the enemies of Islam relentlessly" (Sura 4:90).
"Fight them until Islam reigns supreme" (Sura 2:193). "Cut off their heads, and cut off the tips of their fingers" (Sura 8:12).
- If a Muslim does not go to war, Allah will kill him (Sura 9:39). He is to be told, "the heat of war is fierce, but more fierce is the heat of Hell-fire" (Sura 9:81).
- A Muslim must "fight for the cause of Allah with the devotion due to him" (Sura 22:78)
- Muslims must make war on the infidels (unbelievers) who live around them (Sura 9:123).
- Muslims are to be "ruthless to unbelievers" (Sura 48:29).
- A Muslim should "enjoy the good things" he has gained by fighting (Sura 8:69).
- A Muslim can kill any person he wishes if it be a "just cause" (Sura 6:152).
- Allah loves those who "fight for his cause" (Sura 61:3).
-Anyone who fights against Allah or renounces Islam in favor of another religion shall be "put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off alternative sides" (Sura 5:34).
- Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)
- Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5)
- Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire. (Koran 69:30-37)
- I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them. (Koran 8:12)
- They should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides. (Koran 5:33)
- Know that paradise is under the shades of swords. Sahih al-Bukhari Vol 4 p55
Kinda sucks to get a real smackdown, don't it Hodar?
Given all the "religion of peace" posts on this site, I'd say your words will fall on deaf ears at best.
Attack the point, not the person.
I most certainly did that.
"For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God:but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ." -2 Corinthians 2:17
"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. " - 2 Peter 3:16
"But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." -2 Corinthians 4:2
Um, no you can't. Cuz when you do you are violating the Scriptures own interpretation of itself. Context matters, always. A text without a context is a pretext and not any longer a text.
In Islam, you can make it say murder in context, no interpretation necessary. The context says murder all unbelievers ("infidels"), even until now, without interpretation. And they prove it with every murder, every hijacking, every homicide bomber, every sniper, every day.
Name a "Baptist terrorist organization" any place in the world. I can name many Muslim ones.
Name a fundamentally, staunchly Muslim extremist organization which denounces ALL terrorism, every day, and has for years now. Just one....
....you will see how "peaceful" Islam is when you tap this Church's incoming calls, emails and FAXes and video his home and church for a while, while the "peace-loving Mohammedans" attack.

The difference is that GOD---the Creator of the Universe--- instructs followers to do HIS will.
Dead-human Muhammad is/was NOT God!
So then do it.
Have you actually read both the Koran and the Bible ?? I have. Make NO mistake that the jihad of the Koran was all about combat. This is one of their pillars of their religion.
The Koran goes into booty splits, how to treat the slaves and such. The primary prophet was for all appearances a brigand, treacherous murderer and child molestor.
Any religion that EXPLICITLY states that it is ok to lie and deceive the infidel has some SERIOUS flaws.
Islam is a gutter religion made by criminals for criminals and support Arab cultural supremacy over everything.
This is a common mistake made by many Christians and it results in an unfortunate mental and philosophical detachment from what are the underpinnings of the Christian faith.
Study the teachings of Paul (The book of Romans in particular) and also recall that Jesus said he came to fulfil the law and the prophets, not to destroy them.
You might have mistranslated texts there, unknowingly by you adopted as the real deal.
