Is there any doubt to any discerning person that the world and all of its systems HATE the Lord Jesus Christ? The Gibson case is just the latest manifestation of the world's hatred for Christ. They hate Him because they are in rebellion against God - they want to live their sinful lives according to their own dictates ("every man did what was right in his own eyes"), and do not want to be accountable for their actions. Problem is - they will be - EVERY KNEE WILL BOW. As Paul the Apostle said, if the dead rise not (attitude of the world), "let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die."

They showed some screenshots of the images Mel intends to portray of the crucifiction of Jesus Christ. It was painful to look at. There must be many who are fearful about this movie being produced and released at this time. It could have an exceptionally profound effect on our society and view of Christianity. Hard to describe what I felt seeing the first graphic image. I imagine this movie could potentially turn many to Christ.

You know you are right. I was at World Youth Day in Toronto this summer and seeing Christ's Passion being done by real people and watching Christ die on the cross for us was incredibly moving. The experience changed me.

Anything that would even imply merely moral introspection is exceedingly threatening to the ideology of the left.

I saw the Mel Gibson interview as well, and there was no doubt who he was refering to when he said the reporter was "sent". He was absolutely right on target. God bless you Mel.

Bravo Mel for standing up to the press hounds. Before this is over, Mel will have to face more than just a few more of these creeps. Looking forward to this depiction of the Lord's passion.

...MEL GIBSON's .."SIGNS".. -&- .."WE WERE SOLDIERS".. have both been recommended for the Best Picture Oscar by Film Critic/National Talk Radio Host MICHAEL MEDVED...

...because of the Spiritual Armor they give US in Time of a new World War.

...Thus the Spiritual Battle of US vs. those against US from within and without has now been joined.

More than an entity, Satan is actually a "fallen" angel - meaning he was an angel in the presence of God who decided, in his pride, that he would reject God and His authority. For more description, see Isaiah 14:12-15, which many believe describes both the King of Babylon and the fall of Satan. Check also Luke 10:18, and Revelations 12:7-9.

So it would not be accurate to say that Satan is the "anti-God." He is not omnipotent. More accurately, Satan is the "anti-Michael."

Now we may go back to our regularly scheduled thread.

I would have never thought the kid i saw in the first Mad Max back in college would have given us everything from Braveheart to Patriot to We Were Soldiers and now this.

As a father of 4, my favorite Mel piece is in Patriot when he firsts drops his neutrality and goes after the Brits full bore after they've killed one of his boys and captured another. That fight scene in the woods(tomahawk and all) and it's immediate aftermath with Mel's sullen bloody face and the look of awe and fear in his two younger boys eyes is a really great movie moment.....sort of like those two young boys have suddenly realized that dear old dad....is not just daddy. I guess scenes like that move many old middle aged dads like me...lol

We Were Soldiers was basically "boycotted" by the media and hardly mentioned and they torpedoed it as a movie by not talking about it. Hollywood d "WWS" because it was so patriotic and good. They prefer Oliver Stone's portrayal of Viet Nam and always will as they detest America and America's military. Long Live Mel Gibson who has taken the s on head first and is going to be this generations John Wayne.

OH really! Sent by Satan! yikes! From the way he talked last night I think Mel has certainly got a good handle on what he believes. That is fantastic.

Jim Caviezel is portraying Jesus in this film. He is a devout Catholic as well and I will be VERY interested to see how the media portrays this film. I am sure it will be terrible to watch, but watch it I will, IF it gets released in major markets.

Go Mel!

It may not be official to you but I was taught as a boy in the Bible that Satan is a fallen angel who lives basically to defy G-d through us.

That's good enough for me. I've seen plenty of his work up close and personal in my life and have no doubt whatsoever about evil and it's insidious nature.

I have even from time to time fallen under Satan's influence and lived to regret it. Thankfully, it's a much less common occurence now but nevertheless still will happen. It's my choice...I was taught right early on.

I read somewhere that Gibson has a chapel on his L.A. property and practices the Catholic mass every day.

There was a favorable piece done on the film in the Globe and Mail last December.  Go to  http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/ArticleNews/PEstory/TGAM/20021221/RVPASS/Arts/thearts/theartsFilmHeadline_temp/1/1/9

Gibson, describes himself as an old-fashioned Catholic (the former Road Warrior will only attend Mass if it's said in Latin).
<snip>
This time he took the Aussie-bred director's offer because Gibson --a deeply devout Roman Catholic himself, who has a private chapel in the backyard of his home in Malibu, Calif. - ...

Jesus was speaking figuratively, saying that if Peter hindered Jesus' work (ie His death), he was doing the work of Satan. Satan and Jesus interacted directly in the wilderness (Matt 4) and he also appeared before the throne of God in Job.

"Since I’ve been in Rome here there have been some people sent from reputable publications who,
you know, go about. . . they start digging into your private life . . . ow, get ready."

I'm in Mr. Gibson's corner...until some reputable investigators give me reason to doubt him.

To make a long story short...............
I happened to see Mr. Gibson at the Malibu Courthouse (part of the Los Angeles system),
just out of pure luck because the trial I was testifying at had been moved from the Santa Monica
courthouse.

When I saw Mr. Gibson walk out of the courthouse, I silently freaked out...
and fortunately FORGOT that I had a copy of a the publication on the making
of "The Patriot" in my shoulder bag...because the courthouse guards told me that
Gibson was there to take care of a mess with some papparazzi (sp?) who'd
been messing with him and his family.

Gibson got into a very humble (small) SUV-style vehicle and drove away from the courthouse.
Absolutely anonymous and drawing no attention to himself. Just an average
guy who can ask $20 million (PLUS) for a major theatric release and use some
to pursue his "passion" in making other films.

Besides being "starstruck" and fortunately reticent about intruding on Mr. Gibson's
privacy, I did get one other hot tip from a Malibu courthouse guard:
"Pamela Sue Anderson...she isn't a very nice person..."

To my fellow freeper, I make the same solemn pledge that the artist Goya put on the
back of some of his canvases showing the torture of his fellow citizens by
Napoleon's troops:

"This I saw with my own eyes"
