I took my son to see Michael Moore live at the Roundhouse, in north London, before Christmas. The US radical and author of the best-selling book Stupid White Men was (mostly) clever, funny, angry, sharp, iconoclastic and sceptical about the lies and humbug processed by the US government and big business. Sure there were some flunked bits – you expect that, the troughs are part of the adventure, an evening with a well-worn rebel.

What we did not expect was to feel so enraged at one point that we almost walked out. It was when Moore went into a rant about how the passengers on the planes on 11 September were scaredy-cats because they were mostly white. If the passengers had included black men, he claimed, those killers, with their puny bodies and unimpressive small knives, would have been crushed by the dudes, who as we all know take no disrespect from anybody. God save us from such stupid white men, especially now, when in the US and the UK, black people's lives are being ripped to shreds by drugs, lawlessness, fear and frightful violence plus the endless circle of racism, exclusion and incarceration. This is not awesome, Mr Moore; it is a calamity, for descendants of slaves unimaginably more so.

I would have done more than walked out if I was there. Apparently, he has convienently forgotten about those brave men who were on the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania. And on top of that, to try and tie race to it, which is completely irrelivent is just irresponsible.

In all seriousness, I have concluded the reason the first three planes of passengers did not overwhelm the terrorists was because the passengers thought it was only a hi-jacking. I believe that the flight 93 passengers heard the news over their cell phones that they were crashing the planes, and they knew there was nothing to lose. When there is nothing to lose, even Barney Fife/Wally Cox types will become heroes, as would a few females, I suspect.

One time I ran into Michael Moore in Times Square, he was acting like he was some kind of celebrity...I actually got the chance to laugh in his face as I said, "What a loser".

He was afraid of my size, and that I'm a REAL man, just like the time I ran across that crusty ol' pedophile Woody Allen walking along 5th Ave. with his child bride...lol!

He has been a very successful self-promoter who has made himself a darling of the hate-the-establishment left. Ever since his breakout film, Roger & Me [1989], on General Motor's closing its Flint, Michigan auto factories, he has made his living being an anti-establishment gadfly. Unfortunately, with his current book, Stupid White Men ... [2002], still ranked on Amazon.com as #50 after almost 11 months in print, I fear that there are enough stupid sheeple to keep him going for a while longer.
