a former Muslim friend (now Christian) who tells me "Islam is the religion of the devil."

After watching "Muhammad, Legacy of A Prophet", my take-home is that Muhammad was a
good businessman, tough as a warrior, shrewd at statecraft in a place
drenched in chaos, and great at landing the babes.
He cobbled together a system to keep rowdy Arabs together as a cohesive group
and grafted on some Jewish and Christian ideals to give him more respectability.

But a real prophet? No, just a formidable man.

(PBS ran it the night after "Muhammad..."; I guess somebody at PBS headquarters
said it was time to cover their @$$e$...or lose their Congressional funding.)


it's still not easy to resolve exactly where or what "Islam" is (any more than
"Christianity," given the wide differences between fundamentalism and catholicism,
East versus West).

I can't really help you with all the different flavors of Islam...but for Christianity,
you might try "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, in case you haven't heard of it
before. It's a good discussion of the common thread of Christianity.

Yep. PBS is catching hell for airing this pro-muslim crap. They're already going broke and hanging on by their fingernails financially. I hope this is the issue that breaks them. Unfortunately, some liberal ass in government will probably decide that PBS needs another fat grant (and to think that the libs have the nerve to whine about "corporate welfare"! What do they call this?!). This whole thing makes me sick, and this is the result of living on government grants for 30+ years instead of having to survive in the market economy like everybody else.

PBS likes to act like they're still the only educational channel in America. That's crap. With TLC, the Discovery Channel(s), and the History Channel, all of whom have much better programming than PBS, who the hell needs PBS? They're content is liberal crap and it's disgusting to see them constantly beg for money on their pledge drives.

PBS can feel free to hit the f***ing road!

I am a former Moslem, born and raised in the Middle East. I am very disappointed and almost scared after watching your presentation about Islam. One of the reasons I fled to the United States of America was to escape the oppressive regime of Islam in the Middle East. From a former Moslem, these people are in the US to Islamize America and have a scary agenda. They audaciously buy churches and convert them into mosques!
