Melanie Hunter, the Deputy Managing Editor of CNSNews.com reports that in a letter addressed to Steven Miller, director of Exempt Organization of the IRS, political activist Rick Sellers charges that more than 300 churches took part in partisan political activity in Louisiana.
These churches, Sellers charges, assisted Senator Mary Landrieu in her recent attempt to defeat Republican candidate Suzanne Terrell.
I would like to bring to your attention IRS illegal activity in Louisiana during the recent United States runoff by more than 300 churches in support of Senator Mary Landrieus campaign, he wrote.
Sellers attached three newspaper articles from the Times Picayune and the Washington Post that detail the fraud:
First, the Times-Picayune (12/2/2002) reported that Landrieu spoke as a candidate to 800 parishioners at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
Shed been going to churches every Sunday for the last couple of months, Seller said.
Second, the Times-Picayune (12/6/2002) later reported that, Landrieu has been getting help from a coalition that claims 300 historically black churches in New Orleans.
Finally, in his Washington Post column (12/5/2002), George Will quotes Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC) on how he taught churches to use vans for campaign activity.
Let me tell you what street money is, he says. You go to a black church and say, We want to use your van on Election Day to get voters to the polls. You want it Sunday we want it Tuesday. So the campaign pays the insurance for a year and hires as a driver a Deacon Jones, whose name is on the vans insurance policy, the column read.
Sellers commented that it doesnt say where he was talking about
but he was in Louisiana. And he talks about how they have a method of where the campaign buys the church van and then they share it. Well thats absolutely illegal too.
Sellers charges that, The law was fragrantly violated, and the outcome would probably have been very different without this illegal Church activity.
Once again, another Democratic victory is compromised by fraud.

"smart politics".....It is fraud when a tax exempt organization is engaged in politics. Had a Republican done this, it would have made front page news on every liberal newspaper in the country.

"If we ever want to implement conservative policies, with a real majority, we have to end this." This has been going on at least since '48, when "Landslide" Lyndon Johnson won his first Congressional seat by way of stuffed ballot boxes. (Just think how different history would have been if THAT creep could have been defeated at that early stage)
Then we had Mayor Daley resurrecting the dead in Chicago in '60 to vote for JFK - which put him over the top against Nixon.
So - one is left to wonder if the GOP is REALLY interested in exposing vote fraud.

"It is fraud when a tax exempt organization is engaged in politics."
How true! This fraud has to be stopped. It is racist the way the rules are applied. 'RAT candidates can campaign in African-American churches, yet white conservative christians can't do the same. This is unfair. I think conservatives ought to monitor black churches for IRS violations during an election cycle. If violations are detected, then Freep the IRS to take action. The ACLU and Americans United for the Separation of Church & State do this stunt with pro-life conservative churches all the time. It is time to give the 'RAT a taste of their own medicine.

I just KNEW that Landrieu had a cheat scheme set up. Frankly, if this is left the way it is then the voting in the United States is no better than that carried on in third world nations. You know, all those places they send Peanut Carter to monitor that no vote fraud goes on!! Good God, get the Justice Department and the FBI on this - DEMAND that Mary Landrieu be removed from her Falsely and illegally gotten Senate seat and prosecute those (including her) who carried this out. Either voter fraud is dealt with or the whole system is a Fraud!! I know in Canada we have a very unfair system because of the unfair representation/seat structure - but with the way that the voter booths are run - it would be pretty difficult to pull off a fraud. I REALLY REALLY hope this time it gets dealt with. Mary Landrieu should not be allowed to secure a Senate seat by FRAUD - TWICE!! I just knew it that day, NO results from New Orleans until the very end.!! This is PUTRID! If the witch can't win fair and square she sure doesn't deserve to be making decisions for Lousiana.!!

Democrat politicians campaign in Black Churches and Black Church leaders use their Churches to campaign for Democrats. Has happened here for as long as I can remember. If any other Church group mentions politics the traditional leftist organizations go crazy with charges of mixing religion and politics. True double standard.

I think that what galls everyone is that nothing is ever done about vote fraud. I am hopeful that that will change.
As of this year, it is now a FEDERAL OFFENSE. The socialist state Attorney Generals can't block the Feds anymore!
Also I think people are waking up. Republicans are getting more involved on the ground. We are learning and starting to take action.
I agree that Landrieu should not be seated if enough fraud is proven. Either that or hold another election.
The perpetrators of vote fraud must know that they will be prosecuted and jailed. Anything else is a waste of time. There is no other solution.

I agree Lion, at some point there MUST be consequences for vote fraud and it should include all the parties from the candidate right through to the voter. Votes CANNOT be allowed to be bought. Duh - simple huh? I truly pray that the Justice Department and every other law enforcement agency department involved should be peppered with DEMANDS for action, NOW> Not next election - NOW>

Great graphic, PD. I hope you don't mind if I copy it.
I agree with everything you said, Lion. It's a pity voter fraud can't get the coverage that Lott is getting.

Voter Fraud In Louisiana! Boy,just wait until the Janet Ashcroft Justice Department and Bubba Bush White House find out about this! They will hop right on it,just like they did all the Dim voter fraud during the 2000 elections! (sarcasm)
Mary,Mary has nothing to worry about. Hell, the feds didn't even bother to prosecute the NYC woman arrested in Wisconsin for buying alcohol and cigarettes to junkies to get them to vote Dim. She even hired vans to take them around so they could vote more than once. A Wisconsin judge fined her $500 and told her to go back to her penthouse in NYC as punishment, and Janet Ashcroft never even bothered to file feral charges. And this ain't even getting to Ashcroft and Bubba-2 sealing all evidence of voter fraud involving Hillary Clinton during the 2000 elections, or Bubba-1's "pardon for cash" campaign.

If we ever want to implement conservative policies, Neither branch of the "one true ruling party" wants conservatives to EVER be in charge. They would upset too many long-standing apple carts on both sides of the aisle.
To: Milltownmalbay
This isn't vote fraud per se. It's a violation of tax laws that conservatives generally believe to be unconstitutional in the first place.
