[history]
Tuesday, November 19, was truly [1] a black, black day for this nation and one I never dreamed would happen here.
I remember vividly as a child watching Nikita Khrushchev standing at the UN beating his shoe against the podium and shouting that they (the then Soviet Union) would take us over without firing a shot. Little did we know or ever dream then that the Soviet Union would fall but that a truly [2] evil man from Texas and his equally evil regime from Cheney on down would take us over from within and that the Democrats would completely collapse before our eyes and help him do it. This truly [3] began with the stolen election of 2000.
I truly [4] wouldn't blame the French if they came and took back that gift they gave us a century ago, the Statue of Liberty. It's truly [5] meaningless now and only stands as a very sad reminder of what we once were.
Every American who cares deeply for this nation and what we once stood for should be sad. Those traitor Democrats in the House and Senate should think about what they have helped to destroy in two short years.

They just don't make liberals like Ash anymore.
Ya know, I never thought of that. Who was it that used to put up the Ash Alert?

Pointy Head: Isn't it great to live in a country where you can say what you think and broadcast it on the web without repudiation? Except here at FR, where he was immediately banned.
Need to put that pointy head back in the pencil sharpener and turn the handle quickly. You are apparently not sharp enough to see that damn proud liberal posted at least three more times over the next day; if he was banned at all, it was as immediate as a Gore concession speech
Free Dummy and Proud Libby, and other assorted liberals:
You are all very confused. Since your confusion has to do with what is likely a public school education in the use of the English language, I regret I can only spend so much time trying to educate you. I can't undo years of neglect with but a few lines of prose online. But please, get help. Do it now. I have a news flash for you:
To disagree with someone isn't to repudiate them.
Some synonyms for repudiation.
Taboo, anathema. ban, barring, blockade, boycott, lockout narrowing, nonadmission, prohibition, taboo
(er, a synonym is a word that means about the same thing as another word. Notice pointy head got this one right, I may not agree with him politically, but he is at the head of this class in terms of sharpness)
Dialogue is how we solve problems. A dialogue between two people that agree completely is impossible, it is merely a monologue with a two part harmony. It is said that if two people agree completely, one of them is irrelevant. I would rather chat and trade playful jabs with our proud liberal friend than listen to someone who probably is aligned with me politically but posts things about how liberals shouldn't breed and assorted nonsense....
To: tnlibertarian
as your senior by 1 year and change, I -ahem- feel your pain.
To: Scarlet_Pimpernil
but... but... liberals shouldn't breed ;)
To: damn proud liberal
DPL, you are an uncharitable charicature of your kind.
To: my_pointy_head_is_sharp
Disagree. He can still say whatever he wants. He just can't use Jim's microphone to broadcast whatever he wants. Thanks, AM

Lol, at least he/she isn't whining for another recount. :o)
It could be taken as a sign of hope!

(From Dictionary.com)
re·pu·di·ate ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-pyd-t)
tr.v. re·pu·di·at·ed, re·pu·di·at·ing, re·pu·di·ates
To reject the validity or authority of: Chaucer... not only came to doubt the worth of his extraordinary body of work, but repudiated it (Joyce Carol Oates).
To reject emphatically as unfounded, untrue, or unjust: repudiated the accusation.
To refuse to recognize or pay: repudiate a debt.
To disown (a child, for example).
To refuse to have any dealings with.
I believe the "reject the validity of..." definition fits the current discussion, but I have been guilty in the past of accepting or using a word that sounds like something it ain't. In this case I can at least make an argument, which I must assume you know to be different than your blatent assertion. I would advise caution when flaming someone when you are not standing on 100% firm ground.
Why in the world you would think I am a liberal is beyond me. If you follow my posts, you will see that I am quite the opposite. I rather liked having someone here that forced us to sharpen our argumenation scissors -- but it is true this is JRs baby and he can do whatever he wants and ban whom he wishes.
If that was your point,it was lost in your diatribe.
di·a·tribe ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-trb)
n.
A bitter, abusive denunciation.
To: damn proud liberal
"Liberalism is a pessimistic faith because it never sees the potential in Man, just his flaws. Rather than focusing on ways to free people so they can elevate themselves, liberalism instead concentrates on ways to subsidize people in their current misery. Liberalism is embarrassed by success and prosperity because independent and free people do not need liberals -- and above all, liberals need to be needed."

I got a little carried away.
Consider me duly and gently reprimanded. Sounds like we agree more than we disagree. Your point is well taken.
To: Scarlet_Pimpernil
Apology accepted, no harm done.
Been there. I have turned the burners up a few times and found I'm the one with the hot foot. ;D
I swear, I look at DU and 1) They don't argue with intelligence and; 2) I have NEVER seen an apology for anything.
My friend, it's great to have you along on our common path.
