Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. I have a gut feeling George W. Bush will deliver world peace

No - don't go there. There is no final place called "peace", at least not in the life of mortals we inhabit now. There is only the ebb and flow, of war and peace, of liberty and tyranny.

Amen ! and since I haven't had a chance to say this before (I tend to be in nighty-night land by the time the Dose is posted) it's so very nice to see/read (???) you here on this thread -- I have kids around your age (2 sons , 22 and 18 -- also a daughter, 16) and they are strong conservatives and very interested in politics -- it's nice and also reassuring to know there are other "kids" out there like them, sometimes I worry that I've 'warped' their little minds with too much Free Republic (LOL) :)

"I was driving around today and I kept hearing something about a new poll which shows that W is in the process of building a Republican generation much the way FDR built the Democrat generation. Anyone know what this is from, i.e., where is the poll info? Also heard that the poll shows an overwhelming support for the vision that W has for America or something to that effect."

I'm so glad that soccer and homework was on my mind during the Clinton Admin. But all of the extremely terrible and unforgivable stuff he did occurred right when I was becoming aware of politics. I guess we can't be sheilded from everything bad. At least we have Dubya to make up for it.

Occasionally, I used to think that there was something wrong with me becasue I was Republican when it seemed like every single college person was a Democrat. Then I completely realized I was Right and becaming even more firm in my beliefs. Thanks to the Free Republic I have intelligent people from all walks of life to share my thoughts with.

I personally think George W Bush will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. I agree with Mike. I have a hunch he will bring peace before he leaves office. At any rate he will certainly leave his mark on both the Presidency and the Republican party.

yeah -- college can be like that --my oldest son was at MIT and it was total liberal-land -- but he did manage to find some conservative friends there -- they have to "band together" for protection from the liberal herd, esp. up in Massachusetts :)

I heard something similiar on Fox News this A.M. regarding clinton- it said something about the most admired men in America, and clinton made the top five. Then the same poll asked who was the most loathed person in America and clinton was NUMERO UNO!

Go figure.

Makes ya wonder if our nation is schizo.

I think the problem for poor Clinton is you are going from one exteme to the other. If Gore had won the election, Clinton would not look so bad. However, when you have a man like Bush who is decent, honest, caring, tendor, strong and a leader and then compare to Clinton......well Clinton pale in comparison.
