Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Hi, Wphile.....YES, VERY dry - I was out watering shrubs yesterday! We were on the Oregon Coast over Thanksgiving - was dry, calm and not a lick of wet. This mornings rain was welcome but too little.....the skiers are suffering. And, yes, we'll ALL be suffering if there's not lots more precipitation soon. My web feet are starting to DRY OUT!

The story on CNN of the lighting of the Menorha says the two
girls who lit the candles father was killed in NY on 9/ll.
The President lit the first candle and then handed to one of
the girls then stood back with his hands clasped. After it
was lit, the younger girl got a wink from the President. Also
a Jewish choir sang.

I was driving around today and I kept hearing something about a new poll which shows that W is in the process of building a Republican generation much the way FDR built the Democrat generation. Anyone know what this is from, i.e., where is the poll info? Also heard that the poll shows an overwhelming support for the vision that W has for America or something to that effect.
Anyone know anything about this?
BTW, W looks great!

Thank you. Three granddaughters are fun, especially since I have four sons. My daughter is a step child & she was eight when she came into my life 17 years ago. I'm having the greatest time doing all the "girly" things.

42 never thought of anyone but himself. Bush is having to straighten out the mess he left. And fight liberals at home in order to do it. I still don't like the picture. The others are better.

You know, that is what gripes me about all the nay-sayers.
I cannot understand how they can look at this man who has worked so hard, rallied the country, brought people together, appointed the best cabinet in history, and has given up a normal family life for the duration of his time in office....and all they see is the big farm bill, or immigration problems, or whatever. Ugh.
May the odious X42 be visited by the Ghost of Christmas yet to come....

It's very dry here although we did have some decent rains in November but the rest of the Fall was very dry.
I hate this fog business though. It comes in here and can hang around for weeks! I remember one year my brother in law was here, for the first time, and we had fog the entire two weeks he was here. Never saw anything.
It can make a person crazy if you think about it too much. Trying not to think about it. LOL!

Actually his eyes look green on my monitor too -- I think it's the lightiong/film -- the color of his tie looks different from one picture to another also -- and I've seen Laura in a red suit that also looked pink or even orange in other pictures.....

Did you see the Esquire stuff? I've only skimmed through that thread but didn't it say that Clinton is the most loathsome man in America! If that's coming from Esquire, I think the people are finally finding a clue.
I said on another thread that GW is overshadowing Clinton so much and with his gravitas people are realizing what a whimp and worthless schmuck Clinton is and was. His legacy is coming out and spades in and it isn't a pretty one. All good things in all good time.

I like the smile on the woman shaking hands with the President in the 2nd pic down in post 17. Like she's trying with limited success to keep from flashing the biggest smile she's had in a long time.

>>I can't think him enough for his leadership in these troubled times
I agree. Just looking at him in these pictures makes me realize how much we need him. He looks tired. *:-(

I will bet that when all is said and done for George W. Bush and his Presidency, It will be "George W. Bush picked up where Ronald Reagan left off and showed the world we are still the "Shining City on the Hill"

Now don't be getting any ideas. You'll get Ohio and Lawgirl worked up over that! Besides, don't you know that the DNC partyline stipulates that married people don't do that sort of thing... Only young, non-married sexually vibrant people do those stort of things...(yea, right! NOT! )
