I was driving around today and I kept hearing something about a new poll which shows that W is in the process of building a Republican generation much the way FDR built the Democrat generation. Anyone know what this is from, i.e., where is the poll info? Also heard that the poll shows an overwhelming support for the vision that W has for America or something to that effect.
Anyone know anything about this?
BTW, W looks great!

I will bet that when all is said and done for George W. Bush and his Presidency, It will be "George W. Bush picked up where Ronald Reagan left off and showed the world we are still the "Shining City on the Hill"

I was just thinking about that last night.
To extend the parallel, that would make Klintoon correspond to Coolidge ... a strange parallel, but suspend judgment on that for a minute.
It's my economic prediction that we are headed into hard times, that the stock market has much further to fall. Roosevelt was trusted through the Great Depression; economic bad times are not necessarily bad news for the incumbent, if they can earn the trust of the people.
There had been serious signs of liberalism in our nation for decades before, what with Woodrow Wilson, the 16th and 17th amendments, the League of Nations, Prohibition and such. But Roosevelt cemented that shift to the left and paved the way for a half-century dominated by liberals, culminating in LBJ's Great Society.
Now we have had, especially with Reagan, signs of a shift to the right. I predict that Bush will cement that shift, for decades to come. The recent Democrat Presidents (Carter and Klintoon) will be looked back on as the last decaying gasps of the wave of liberalism that washed over America the last century.
America bent, but did not break. She stood strong.

You can learn more about this special polling summary by Scott Rassmussen at

Unfortunately, you must buy the summary to get the 'good stuff!' I plan to purchase it next week and will post key excerpts!

I personally think George W Bush will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. I agree with Mike. I have a hunch he will bring peace before he leaves office. At any rate he will certainly leave his mark on both the Presidency and the Republican party.

I didn't hear about that poll, Wphile, but I do believe it's true. Before 9-11, I truly feared that anyone under the age of 25 had pretty much lost interest in the history of this country, let alone being politically aware. But after 9-11, the number of youngsters I saw out on street corners and public places waiving the flag and supporting the President restored my faith in youth.
For many of these young folks, President Bush represents a father figure, someone to protect them from danger and to provide guidance and clarity. And in the days in weeks after 9-11, I, too, realized, that because of President Bush's leadership, a generation of Republicans was being created.
