This is a ping to everyone who posted on the
Prayer Thread the other day.
I owe all of you so much for the Prayer support. As you can see above, if not for those prayers, I would not be here.

Still prayin for ya, brother!
I too am a smoker, and know I should quit---but probably won't, if the past is any indicator of the future.
But I did get a checkup the other day---and the nurse said that with my blood pressure, I was gonna live to be 100! ;-)
Do whatcha gotta do to get better---we need ya here freepin with us for the next 20 years!

Thanks, and glad you are still around.
It looks like our lifestyles are exactly alike. The VA keeps telling me I am asking for trouble as well.
I will take your experience to heart and do a bit of self critical thinking.
Once again, glad you made it!

WOW! Thank you for telling us your story! And thank the good Lord that He interceded so much on your behalf! Your service to Him in this realm must not be finished!

Its good to see you posting. What an ordeal. But - Thank God. Thank God. Thank God!
Youre lucky to have such a good EMS team respond. They are to be congratulated.
I see from your home page that you live in Hillside, IL. I hope they transported you to Loyola. I was a Fireman/EMT on the York Center Fire Department a few years back. All the Paramedics agreed that if anything ever happen, to transport them nowhere but Loyola. Hearing that, I added my Me too!
Its interesting that they gave you aspirin in addition to nitro. I keep a few aspirin in my brief case, more for such an emergency than for aches and pains.
It's a great relief to hear you survived. You remain in my prayers.

Thanks for the ping. Now that prayers have been answered, you owe us! Payback will be for you to get on your feet and stick out the years the Lord has given you back.
So glad you made it.

We are so privileged to be a part of your prayer partners! There is nothing better that we can do for one another, and we are so very happy to hear the outcome.
Welcome to the former-smoker's club. We quit before having children many years ago. (BEFORE the research was known) We just knew in our hearts that it was not what we wanted in our babies' lives. We've never regretted it, and our daughters have thanked us!
May your healing be swift. God's blesings.

May God continue to bless you Mr_Magoo.
I think after two/three weeks of exercise you'll discover it's addictive and fun. Not only does it strengthen the body but it clears the mind.
I walked for about 15 years,three/four times a week. I live rural and had a hard surface road to walk. A neighbor and I walked together, making a round trip of three miles in an hour. The time was nothing to brag about but we pulled some good size hills and we were no spring chickens.
After the first three weeks I found myself rushing around to make time for my walk. I had no idea in the beginning the benefits I would receive from those years of walking, mentally and physically.
Sorry to run on so, but wanted to encourage you to walk or whatever exercise is best for you. It is hard at first but the rewards are wonderful.
I hope you will keep us updated every once in awhile.

Glad to hear your Ok Magoo.....or at least doing better. I had an MRI and Cat Scan done recently for some compression fractures an a bone spur in my back. (not the lileage just the sudden stops per se)
In the report from the individual that looked at the results he made a comment in passing that "all the vessels to the heart were clear" ??? Is that the kind of scan you were refering to ??
Again ....Glad your going to be with us a few more decades !
Stay Safe !

First, welcome back to FR. Glad you made it through your ordeal. Second, thanks for sharing your "wake up call." I was in the doctor the other day for pain I was experiencing in my chest, turned out to be a strained chest muscle. Going on 40 years old in the VERY near future, and having back surgery for a blown disc in my back shortly after I turn 40, I had to get a physical and get checked out. Lucky me.
Here's to your continued recovery, and improving strength. Surely there as some heavenly intervention if those 18-19 things your doctor said HAD to happen for you to still be here. God is good isnt' he? :-)

I know this may sound trite, but it was just not your time to go. Having lost a husband to lung cancer, I urge all to follow what Mr. Magoo suggests above. You might also think about stopping the smoking.
God bless you and your family.
