The Bush administration wants to grant amnesty to hundreds of thousands of Mexican illegal aliens now in the United States, according to the new U.S. ambassador to Mexico.

Tony Garza, sworn in this week at the White House, told reporters in Mexico City that reaching an accord legalizing the status of Mexican immigrants

Thanks...a realist.

BTW, I do not hire illegals directly and since I am not a contractor myself, I hire general contractors and construction managers who I would surmise indeed often subcontract particularly concrete and mason work to sub-contractors who hire illegals.

I vote "conservative" and would like to see our borders shut down to a managed stream of capital possessing immigrants but no, I'm not policing anything.

I sure don't blame the ranchers on the border who do but I suppose that has to do with a lot more than simple campesinos sneaking in to wash dishes.

RINO and Bush-Bot HUNTING TIP #2:

In order to draw the RINO hunter away from the main herd, and the real rewards, RINO's may attempt to distract the hunter by pushing a "Bambi" into the line of fire.

The most obvious way to recognize Bambi (another than the "caught-in-the-headlight" wide eyes)is the fact that it presents no "points" at all. Any Rino worth taking down should have at least 1 small point.

Thank you Texas4ever (aka BambiTex), your post 405 clearly shows what a Bambi looks like. (now run along and play).

Please stay tuned for RINO HUNTING TIP #3. How to Keep your powder dry.

-----------------------------------------------

Always Remember Tip #2: Don't shoot them if they do not have any points.

-----------------------------------------------

The preceding was brought to you by the Gung-Ho Republican and Rino Hunt Club.

"What percentage of our workforce is comprised of illegal aliens? Do you know?"

No way to know, since it increases each day.

Hey don't you want Tancredo for Prez? He can finish the job that the lesser-known Pat Buchanan was unable to get done. It can't be the message so it has to be the messenger and Tancredo is just the guy to carry the message. Come on, join the cause and vote Tancredo in 2004.

Illegals erode the rule of law and create an atmosphere that is antagonistic to assimilation

This is the essense of what I believe, too, and goes to the core of the problem. We want people to come here who want to be AMERICANS, not people who just want to grab the dough and the goodies.

That said, we still have a terrible problem. There are so many of them here now, and their children (Due not just to Democrats and the media and the Catholic church all protecting and encouraging them, but also to the original amnesty that RONALD REAGAN signed.)

They have passed a threshold in a large part of the country in numbers so that they can effectively block with their votes combined with the Dems anything effective to stop this.

That is the reality.

How do you get tough about illegal immigration in this reality of being under occupation essentially when any effort to be tough leads to your immediate political demise?

You all can scream all you want, but you are not running for office.

Republican Governor Pete Wilson was the last politician in California to stand up for border integrity, and California is totally Democrat controlled now. I fought the battle of the reconquista with Pete, but we lost. WE LOST.

You have to present something practical that has a chance of working.

President Bush has wiggle room only because of 9/11 and he will use it as much as he can. He's got the Dept of Homeland Security now only because he convinced the Dems he didn't want it so they would demand it. AND he stated baldly he would VETO it if they didn't give him absolute authority to do what was in national security interest as far as personnel went.

Now comes the fun (though still ticklish) part, beefing up the Border Patrol in a way that the Dems won't dare gripe at. And getting illegals registered in a guest workers program so we can track them and make sure they go back after a couple years. Meanwhile, we beef up accountability in education is our way of making sure the children born here (and thus American citizens) to illegals get a great education and thus can break out of the Democrat victim class and become real Americans in spirit, not just birth, what I call Operation Pied Piper.

Whatever Garza SAYS, what you all should do is WATCH what Bush does on these ways of flanking the illegals.

And go ahead and gripe. I've decided you all are right and we can't let the media think that all the American voters are acquiescing in this violation of our national integrity and security.

In large part because we were stabbed in the back by turncoats on the issue who gave aid and comfort to the likes of the Democrats and the L.A. Times... folks like Jack Kemp, Bill Bennet, the RNC, and a Tejas freshman gubernatorial candidate who shall remain manelss.

It shouldn't be about politics, this is about closing our borders to ALL illegals, since these open borders are now the best (if not only) way for terrorists to get in.

The INS is in such disarray, they will (hopefully) be monitored as to who gets in legally, so this may help to stop terrorists. While we're at it, lets close the borders for awhile, and send anyone found to be illegal back where they came from.

IMO, it is a matter of survival, whether economically or security. What good is it for the Repubs to be in charge if they're still going to cater to the Dems? If this continues, that is, if amnesty is granted or borders left open, it won't be the Dems doing the shouting against Bush, it will be his own party. I was a staunch Bush supporter for a long time, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts.

It appears that it is now FreeRepublic. I guess he may have a congressional website but I don't have a link.

You have no idea how badly I want to believe your analysis. If a President, or any politicans use events to accomplish their agendas then 9-11 was a missed opportunity to deport illegals. Not counting other nationalities here illegally in the USofA, Mexicans alone constitute 8 million illegals, and they admit the number may be more like 12 million.

I would be willing to bet my pet that the total number of illegals in the USofA is more around 30 million or more, and the only political party they have helped is the Democrats and not enough to make it worth all this invasion.

All I see happening is the President, and politicians trying to make the illegal legal, not beefing up security on the border, the flood has not abated one little bit, trying to get "earned legalization" passed, and passing legislation that is in clear violation of the 1st and 4th amendments that makes every law abiding citizen a suspect, guilty before proven innocent.

I don't care what their lawyer twisting interpretation of the 4th is, it says what it plainly says and that is that. It really doesn't matter what they say it says anyway, it only matters what sovereign citizens interpret it to mean and have for years, look up common law, we have all "in common" believed our interpretation of it, no lawyer or politician, or activist court has any business messing with it.

They don't need to pass legislation, they need to enforce and beef up what is on the books, all this other stuff is superfluous fluff designed to make it look like they are doing something when all they are doing is violating everyones inalienable rights and putting in motion a ball of unintended consequences that has the potential to roll down hill on the innocent and the guilty. It's getting hard to believe that it isn't intentional.

Fine the heck out of employers of illegals, round them up on the street corners they hang out on and ship them out of here. Then void the citizenship of baby anchors and ship them out. Stop all immigration and visas until they get control of this out of control situation. Do we really need to tell the graduates of some of our top universities how to solve a problem? We have a national emergency here.
