FReeper ohioWfan has sent me the following message ...

"After an intense struggle to breathe that lasted more than 24 hours, Dad died this morning of 'Monster pneumonia.' His pain is over. He has been reunited with my mom and sister, his parents and all his siblings.

We have suffered the great loss of a great man, and a good friend. We will be together again some day, but the pain is enormous. We will be celebrating a Memorial Service for him on his 86th birthday on Sunday.

God is our comfort and support."

This would have been my dad's 82nd birthday. Tomorrow, 11/23, is the fifth anniversary of his return home... where he was reunited with my mom and his family. My heart and soul know your loss, ohioWfan.

Thank you dutchess. I'm trying to keep him under control. Isn't it ironic that oWf should suffer this loss about the same time there is so much going on? Meek's Dad, my hubby and his uncle, and there have been others that I can't recall at the moment. My hubby commented just a couple of weeks ago that it seems as if a larger number of people die just before Christmas. It does appear to be true. My son died on Dec. 17, 1979. Only God knows why this happens. My heart goes out to oWf and her family. It will be a sad holiday for them.

ohioWfan, I cannot tell you how much I hurt for you, as I lost my own father 6 years ago. It is not ever easy, nor, do I believe, would the Lord want it to be.

How great will be your joy when you are all reunited in Heaven!

I just thought about Eric. You need to contact your local Red Cross and explain the situation. They will contact Eric's commander, and get him emergency leave. You have to go through the Red Cross though.
