Jeepers Freepers - Al Gore says he was terrorized by "busloads of people"

Al Gore says he was terrorized by "busloads of people" organized by the Republican Party, protesting outside the vice presidential residence during the 2000 Florida presidential recount.

In an interview with Barbara Walters on ABC, Mr. Gore talked about the "the organized chanting round-the-clock," and said: "Well, this was the Republican response to what was happening during that 36-day period, and they organized busloads of people that came and stood outside the house all day and all night screaming at the top of their lungs."

I think it's probably a cultural thing that varies from country to country and even region to region.

WHAT? WHAT? WHat is the cultural difference?
Please educate this innocent Irish girl.
Is it WRONG all of a sudden for a teenage girl to lay her head on her dad's lap and watch TV?

Is that perverse?
I'm 30.
If I'm watching telly at home, I often stretch out along the couch and put my head in my daddy's lap. And he may even stroke my hair.

IS that perverse all of a sudden??????

Are Republicans all of a sudden making something normal, perverse?

I'm sickened by the previous post in respect of AG's daughter. And the person who made it, is a sick mutha-*** in my mind. Humour is one thing. And this isn't.

The other lie was that it was "organized". Organization wasn't necessary or attempted.

I don't know why, but the general reaction (it seems about 90%) to the photo is that people see her as looking more coquettish than innocent. It's most likely enhanced by the juxtaposition of him kissing his wife (and we know all know how slobbery that is) at the same time. Then Tipper seems like she might be headed out the door after getting him all warmed up.

Prior to this photo, AlGore has always been seen as harmlessly asexual, and not a perv or anything. That's why he did that Rolling Stone cover and staged that make-out session on live TV to look more manly.

Specifically, the protests were started by the "Freepers" on Free Republic (www.freerepublic.com), "an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism."

Free Republic was founded by Jim Robinson, a Vietnam veteran living in Fresno, Calif., and the protests on Massachusetts Avenue outside the Naval Observatory were organized by Washington, D.C. area members.

Also, Mr. Gore might like to know that it was a Freeper who designed a widely circulated parody of the Gore-Lieberman 2000 logo: "Sore Loserman."

WTG FReepers!

And the caption...I'm SURE you can explain away this caption for me...

''2. His daughter's head is in a rather Clintonian place.''<p.

Spare me the B.S.
You and I both know it's crossing a line.
Unless of course YOU like that kind of thing. ;-)

The sad thing is that millions of people will watch them on ABC and believe the whole thing about the GOP busing people there to scream at him all day and all night (just as they allegedly did at the Dade County courthouse when the election folks tried to count votes behind closed doors and a Republican riot ensued - or to hear them tell it).

Only a handful (and they mostly conservatives) will read the story in the Washington Times.

Ahh those were the days. Kudos especially to the Washington Freepers and the Florida ones too. They did a great job.

And don't forget our New York crew here as well in Liberal hell. We were always outnumbered 10 to one and had to freep in severe weather in Times Square.

If Gore runs again we'll be back.

Actually, the part about the protests was edited from the broadcast. However that part of the transcript was published on the ABC News website.

It's heartening to see folks in the media correcting the record on yet another Gore lie.

Thanks for posting this. People came out to "Cheney's House" because they were fed up with eight years of criminality, treason and perversion by Clinton-Clinton-Gore and they did not want to let Gore steal his way to the presidency.

In the olde days, we'd have been there with tar and feathers.

Yes, kristinn, it's heartening.

It's also heartening to see our leaders in the DC Chapter, I strongly suspect, help to engender these corrections and encourage the kind of lurking that brings the real truth to light.

Kudos.

Now-now, H1.

Why not show this gentleman the same warm, gracious side a few of us know you by?
Invite him to your hometown next time he's on the emerald isle, visiting!!
Sure.
Give 'em the *grand* tour, Angel.
I'm certain he'd never forget you, either; especially, after he'd been properly introduced to your *brotherS*??

...& of course, their friends. ;^)

AlGore is a wierdo and the women in his life are enablers. I am proud of the Freepers who so enraged the chick on the sofa - angry because Papa wasn't going to be able to give her a cushy job - and absolutely terrorized the Algore.

Now of course, if he can deal with his rental property tenants down in Tennessee - you remember the ones with the stopped up toilets and such - he should be able to get over this...well...maybe some day.
