Al Gore says he was terrorized by "busloads of people" organized by the Republican Party, protesting outside the vice presidential residence during the 2000 Florida presidential recount.

In an interview with Barbara Walters on ABC, Mr. Gore talked about the "the organized chanting round-the-clock," and said: "Well, this was the Republican response to what was happening during that 36-day period, and they organized busloads of people that came and stood outside the house all day and all night screaming at the top of their lungs."

"I'm just glad to be here, hanging out on the right corner!"

See, there you go again - saying just the right thing. What it all will come down to in the end is having the right people on the right corners at the right time. : )

Tho on the web site, interesting to note that Kristinn said the stuff about buses, etc., was edited out of the TV version. Wonder why? Did al baby and kirenna or whatever the WH wannabe advisor dtr's name is, immediately after the show, say that that info may have been inaccurate and request it be edited out of the TV interview ? Did they perhaps KNOW that the protestors were indeed Freepers, and did not want articles such as the one at the top of this thread, er, out there? Knowing the Freepers would raise a ruckus? hehe. Guess it didn't work.

Does anyone have the thread in which Sore-Loserman was coined.
That's a classic, I'd like to read it again.
You might find some good information HERE:

"...The protests against the inventor of the Internet were organized on the Internet.
Specifically, the protests were started by the "Freepers" on Free Republic (www.freerepublic.com), "an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism." Free Republic was founded by Jim Robinson, a Vietnam veteran living in Fresno, Calif., and the protests on Massachusetts Avenue outside the Naval Observatory were organized by Washington, D.C. area members...
HERE is a wonderful post about the DEPTH of the "grassroots" support, from an older thread:
...I can truly say one of the finest experiences of my life. I got to meet all sorts of Americans from all over the country bound together by common spirit. Wonderful!

A side bar to note to the Bug...one of those mutants I spoke with was a little old [very old] lady who had ordered her two grown daughters to drive her all the way to Washington from Camden, N.J. so that she could stand in the line with the rest of us, shake her little fist and shout "Get out of Cheney's house."

She told me [in a middle European accent] "You don't know how important this is. I know what happens when elections are stolen and people do nothing to protest".

I could have kissed the old warrior.
Who could not call it a privilege to stand along side people with guts like that.

Regards to all and thanks for the memories

Thanks for that! Those are great memories for me.

(also easing round the corner to the rear entrance of the Veep's mansion to put the "SORE LOSERMAN" sign up where Al Goron would have to see it every time he sneaked out the back way).

Regards,

I agree. That (the picture) looks like a fairly normal family to me.

I was almost ill when it looked like Gore had taken Florida, but no one has ever accused Al of being a pervert.

On the other hand, I watched the 20/20 interview, and Tipper saying she never said or thought anything about Bill's behavior -- that WAS a little much, and rather foolish. By saying that, she alienated the people who abhored what Clinton did, but thought it was an abberation, and were willing to give the Dem's a second chance.

Boy, for a "savy", and veteran politician this guy has very thin skin, or he is lying through his teeth. Knowing lil' Albert the way we all do, I guess the ladder, not the former.

Note to lil' Albert: You need to get out of public life and go to a private law practice some where...Opps, I forgot, you flunked out of law school. Ok then, get nice ministarial appointment to a church congregation somewhere....I goofed again, you quit the Seminary school as well. Surely your College degree and your "brilliant" management of shrinking the federal government as vice president should........Oh, that's right, you screwed the pooch on that one too. Well, since you invented the internet maybe you could.....Sorry, I forgot, you out right lied about that one. So, in light of all of your "qualifications" you could embark on a totally new opportunity, but first you must learn to say the following with feeling: "Do you want me to double size that for you".

In the upcoming publication of "Webster's New World Dictionary" as a definition of the word "worthless" there will be no written statement, just a picture of Al Gore, smiling like a simpleton.

OH , muggs is fine....You will see her,and me , at any future anti- AlGore, Pro-Bush rally around our area!! We still have many SORELOSERMAN signs if you need any! I still fondly remember when we got the finger/fist from ole Hitlery a couple years back when she was in area hunting money for her senatorial campaign. Muggs had a sign that read==SCRAPE the BOTTOM-VOTE for RODHAM ! And My sign read GO LAZIO GO in huge letters. There was a couple dozens of her adorers so I said loudly " Did you see that, Hilary gave us the finger"? and they DID see it! But some thought is was a "fist" .

I had forgotten that! That just SUCKS! But, ya know, it is EASY to picture that creep flippin off those who disagree with her....that is probably the mildest form of her 'get even' mantra. ( I hope you flipped her right back! hehe)
