I keep wondering what happens if he refuses the "order". Do they send the U.S. Marshalls in? Homeland Security Officers?

Good for him. Now... for your viewing pleasure, the Surpremes. Let's hope they have an ounce of sense on the issue.

This is great news! Go Judge Moore!
We need to stand behind this man.

This granite block could achieve a significance on par with the Liberty Bell. Do we have a government whose moral foundation begins with the 10 commandments...or not? That is the question.
Let's answer that question NOW!

A pair of brass ones, bump.

Even if Judge Moore loses this battle, he wins.
He demonstrates his integrity for standing up to childish foes who have themselves all in a twitter over a document up which laws and morality throughout centuries are based upon.
Secondly, even if he is to lose this fight on an eartly basis--I am quite certain that God Himself is looking upon this man's actions with favor. Both the Old and New Testaments are full of stories where God's law and His purpose emerge ever stronger in the face of opression.

Moore knows that Bush has to back him on this or look like a hypocrite. If Bush stays silent or doesn't back him, watch for the Christian Right to stay home next election.

Your going to see more and more of this happening. When the courts come down with these wrong headed decisions people lose respect for the courts and there is little respect left to lose at this point.
I'm glad he told them to go -F- themselves. I hope if they send in some federal marshals to remove it, they are met by a couple hundred heavily armed "good ol' boys". Send em with back to DC with their tails between their legs.

I wonder if a compromise might be in order. Such as having the text of the Commandments on the monument written in the (what I believe) original Hebrew script.
That way your casual passerby would not likely be able to read it and therefore could not make any complaint about being forced into one religious direction or another by the State.

This was all quite predictable. The left has been after Moore for quite some time...and he has never backed up from the fight one little bit.
He was elected handily to his position as Chief Justice, and is a hero to all God-fearing Alabamans.
We need thousands more Roy Moores at every level of governance across this land...in fact, raising up that new generation of leaders is the only hope this republic has.

Could get interesting. Suppose Bush (I don't think he would) tells the Governor to remove it and the Governor tells him to pound sand. The Feds send troops in to remove it and the Governor has the State Troopers form a blockade in front of it. The ultimate smackdown over States rights vs. Federal rights.
Here's one Yankee that hopes the right side prevails this time. I don't have a gun, but would be more than willing to bring down my baseball bats and play a little "Jersey baseball" on one of those stormtrooper's heads if you accept help from Northerners.
