Farrakhan Supports a Fatwa???!!! [helps to run a find on his name-- buried]

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/785944/posts

...Intimidation by the Sudanese Embassy and by people claiming to be members of Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam scared away others who wanted to protest, organizers insist.

One week ago, the vice president of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the United Negro Improvement Association was told by a representative of the Sudan Embassy to not participate in the demonstration. The UNIA said it urged the embassy to issue a statement rescinding the fatwa, but was refused.

Another demonstration, in Los Angeles, had to be canceled, Boof said, "because the organizer was so terrified about Farrakhan's people calling her that she pulled out." ...

We have a big mess on our hands. It's not realistic to call for shipping out all muslim US citizens, many of whom were born in the US. Internment camps? I don't think so. IMHO, GW's heavyhanded survelliance and 'questioning' program is about the best way to go. Combine that with super tight border control, which Bush is opposing, and with simply refusing to allow more immigrants/students/tourists from muslim dominant countries, and we would be even safer.

So far, post 9-11 terrorism in the US is much lower than I thought it would be.

You have quite a few Congress people that agree and protect this bunch.America has more of an internal problem than we dare to aknowledge and we will pay for it somewhere down the line. I think this problem deserves attention sooner than later.

Better be careful. The drug warriors will be here in a minute and you'll get flamed up one side and down the other.

Mohammed and Malvo are alleged to be this prison-oriented, very violent "splinter" group of the NOI, called the 5-Percenters. While I don't know that much about them, it seems to me the 5-Percenters are likely just the radical arm of the NOI, with a separate name for "plausible deniability" by NOI.

This is what our so-called "war on drugs" has done: filling the prisons with alienated, non-violent drug offenders who now hate this country and this society, and are now embracing a militant, anti-American cult. James Michener predicted this in his 1970 novel, "The Drifters." Thirty-two years ago.

I just love it when the war on drugs is blamed for a host of societal ills, including racial profiling, violation of privacy and civil liberties and now - turning prisoners into potental terrorists.

All they have to do is to set the wonderful "poetry" vomited out by the Poet Laureate of New Jersey. Piece of cake....

Chuck Colson, head of the Christian-based Prison Fellowship Ministries, believes, "It's no accident that Islam is growing behind bars."

"Al Qaeda training manuals specifically identify America's prisoners as candidates for conversion because they may be 'disenchanted with their countries' policies.'"

"Two million people occupy America's prisons and jails today - two thirds of whom are non-white. Many feel oppressed by the white power structure and sentencing disparities, which too often fall most harshly on minorities,"

"Alienated, disenfranchised people are prime targets for radical Islamists who preach a religion of violence, of overcoming oppression by jihad,"

"As U.S. citizens, [ex-prisoners] will combine a desire for 'payback' with an ability to blend easily into American culture,"

______________________________

If I were Chuck Colson I'd think twice before I went back into a prison to hold a "Let's Hug" prayer session.

This is news ????

That Black Muslim movement began " burgeoning " about 50 years ago; became a threat in the 1960's/ 1970's ;became Hollywood Chic in the 1980's/ 1990's ; and is just about beyond control in 2002.

Actually, any muslim makes a good recruit for a terror compaign. Hitler, e.g., favored using units of regular "peace-loving muslims" who were praised for their many "virtures" by nature of their "admirable" beliefs.

The war on drugs has nothing to do with it. The prisons are not filled with pacifists unjustly caught up in marijuanna sweeps.

I've got a good way to overcome oppression:

Get up early, go to work, don't steal, lie, kill, etc. Respect your elders. Strive to be the smartest in your class, not the toughest on the street. Set a good example for your kids.

Or am I being "un-diverse"?

Daniel Pipes was being interviewed on Charlie Warren's show on WMAL last night. When Warren took a call from a caller, Pipes hung up -- and refused to come back on the air. He apparently told Warren or Warren's producer that he didn't like to be interrupted. That's no way to influence people!

The 5-Percenters apparently claim to be gods. It's hard to imagine something that would be more offensive to a Moslem than to say that. I wonder why Moslems don't condemn them.

That's pretty rude. I don't listen to that much evening radio but I'd like to hear Charlie Warren in the Chris Core 6PM slot for my late commutes home.

As usual, references to McVeigh as a Christian (although he had consciously rejected his Catholic upbringing) and to David Koresh as a Christian (although he was a former member of the whacko Seventh-Day Adventist cult).
