WO1 Engstrom of the 170th Assault Helicopter Company (gun platoon "Buccaneers") was killed when his UH-1C Huey gunship (tail number 66-15163) suffered a complete tail rotor failure caused by a 50 caliber machine gun round shearing the tail rotor drive shaft during a rocket run. Total control was lost and the aircraft crashed and burned killing WO1 Engstrom and the crew chief, SP5 Arthur E. Keesee.
SCOUTS OUT!
I agree. What happened to SnowBunny? I noticed the USO thread has changed drastically. Can anyone even give a hint of what occurred?
SCOUTS OUT!
"If I'd known you were coming, I'd have baked a cake".....it's okay, really, you don't need to bother! LOL! That is the funniest story.
Daisy, you have done another outstanding job with this profile and thread. It is excellent! We are so blessed to have the kind of people on FR...your kind, Mo's kind...what great FReepers!
Thank you for being one of FR's Finest, Mo! Have a wonderful day! What darling children you have and a beautiful family!
Well, we probably needed more than one cake anyway!
Nope, I didn't - you found and put together ALL the right graphics, background, the works! You had a question on only one little teeny table - the one around Lodwick.
(So, maybe only a little teeny white lie, guys) :)
Mo, I love ya!
A mother's love is like an island
In life's ocean vast and wide,
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the restless, rising tide.
A mother's love is like a fortress
And we seek protection there
When the waves of tribulation
Seem to drown us in despair.
A mother's love is a sanctuary
Where our soul can find sweet rest
From the struggle and the tension
Of life's fast and futile quest.
A mother's love is like a tower
Rising far above the crowd,
And her smile is like the sunshine
Breaking through a threatening cloud.
A mother's love is like a beacon
Burning bright with Faith and Prayer
And through the changing scenes of life
We can find a haven there....
For a mother's love is fashioned
After God's enduring love,
It is endless and unfailing
Like the love of Him above.
For God knew in His great wisdom
That he couldn't be everywhere,
So he put His little Children
In a loving mother's care.
