NEWARK, Ohio -- A Ohio man will spend 30 days in jail for killing a kitten in front of its 4-year-old owner and forcing the girl to help clean up the animal's blood.
Frederick Brumage II, 39, pleaded guilty Saturday to aggravated menacing and cruelty to animals in Licking County Municipal Court.
Brumage also must attend anger-management and mental-health counseling.
Brumage told investigators he was drunk when he visited a neighbor's home Wednesday and became upset when the kitten scratched him.
He burned the cat's paws on a stove burner, then slammed it on the floor with the girl present, according to court records.
He threatened to harm the girl if she told her mother, who was in the shower.

BINGO! I was waiting for the first person to point out the really scary thing about this guy. I imagine he got a vicarious thrill at his power to injure her to her core.
I would investigate this *expletive deleted* 'til the cows got home if I were the local authorites. If he has no other such act in his past as easily he killed the kitten for merely doing kitten things then dovetailed in an effective and often used manipulation to shut the traumatized kid up so seamlessly, I will eat my size seven and a quarter hat in one sitting.
He deserves as much mercy as he showed that child or kitten. I bet she never again looks at adults in the same light. And she will be formed by things like this into the adult she becomes.
I hope he gets what he deserves after the law slaps his bloody wrists.
Just a observation; he is no man. He is male, but it takes more then maleness to be a man.
I agree with you 100 percent that this individual deserves no trust. I bet he regrets this from the point of view he will merely feel sorry for his own worthless butt when the community comes down on him.

As I wrote on my last post,
"If the S.O.B. had tortured and killed a kitten in front of an adult I would have no problem with prosecuting him for animial cruelty. In this case, what he did to the kitten pales in comparison to what he did to the little girl."
I think that torturing kittens is a bad thing, but I think that torturing a little girl is worse than torturing a kitten. I realize that is terribly human-centric of me, but I really don't give a damn.
