Carl Cameron on FOX says Thune all "giddy" because he is within 3000 votes, and the western part of SD hasn't reported yet - it is predominately Republican. You mean there actually ARE 3000 voters in western South Dakota? :-)
***I think we can let up for a little levity at this point in the night - I'm happy as a clam except for the slimebucket democrap we got for governor here in Tennessee.

I still don't get how a 'write-in' candidate can have zero votes. Is that a Minnesota thing? Doesn't someone have to actually write in the name for it to be such? Just amusing to me I guess ...

Greetings fellow Tennessean!
Funny that in Knoxville Republicans were voting for Bredesen, and that in Nashville Democrats were voting for Van Hilleary!
While mayor, Bredesen raised property taxes 3 times to such exceedingly high levels that Nashville's population actually decreased when he was mayor (people moving to other counties since taxes were so high). He and his buddies also made millions for themselves in what is known as the "stadium scam." And then that tax added to the water bill. The list is endless, but the point is that he should be in jail...not governor!
I heard on the radio today that this candidate for "the little people" is actually worth around 180 million dollars. Being a mayor and a cheat paid him quite well! In fact, he ended up spending over 3 million of his own dollars in the last 24 hours of the campaign since he thought it was getting close!
Anyway, Bredesen is NOT good for Tennessee!

>>CNN says Heather Wilson has WON RE-ELECTION (53-47)!<<
Hot d__mn!!! And I thought I was going to have to soon give up my beautiful view of the Sandia Mtns for the flat lands of west Texas! Thanks for the information! I am out of New Mexico for present and have been trying to find out what was going on at home here at FR.
For all the good news tonight, I thought that Heather's earlier reported heavy loss was just not possible. Hot d_mn! (Excuse my French!) :)

"Yes, Talent will take his seat right away, this was a special election. LOL Yea !!!!!" Britt Hume just gave a very good explanation. Talent will assume the position upon winning but not Coleman. (Talent will be finishing out the six year term of Carnahan. (The guy who died)

"1. They're not as wild about Republicans as you are; therefore, it's hardly irrational for them to not vote for same. "
actually, I seriously doubt anyone here is wild about Republicans just because they are Republicans....
but you vote the way you got to vote.....that may mean voting for people that you don't necessarily love just so the ones you really hate and distrust don't get elected...
imo.....we have too many all ready in office that represent some very evil ideas and evil people....
no way will I make it easier for those kinds of people to be elected...

Which way does Pulaski County sway in Missouri? That's one of the only counties that has 0% reporting right now.

Tightening up:
CNN 1:00 am
Talent 50%
Carnahan 49%
95% reporting
To: justlurking
I'm watching the St. Louis stations. Talent's margin going into the last few percent of votes left to be reported--the margin is not as good as we would like. The last few percents tend to go Demo. This happened to Talent two years ago in the guv's race. Keeping my fingers crossed. This could be very, very close.
