Until now, I really thought a Honda Civic was a race car. The drivers of those rice burners sure think they are. It's almost guaranteed that any car with a thunderous oversized tailpipe will be weaving in and out of traffic and speeding, too.
Huber believes that people who purchase noisy mufflers see them as "some sort of extension of their personality that they want to share with the whole world."

CARS?????
It's the motorcycles that make the most noise.

Mr. Huber is being far too loud. He's disturbing me.

.....Mark Huber says the manufacturers of hot rod mufflers are selling a product that is "lawlessly terrorizing" neighborhoods across America. Yeah. And ain't it great?
Apparently now a loud muffler is a terrorist act. Hyperbole doesn't even begin to describe today's political atmosphere. Next they'll be saying that using loud mufflers causes cancer, heart attacks and tooth decay.

A free flowing exhaust actually boosts an engines horsepower. Flowmaster has an excellent product and makes the V-8 motor sound beautiful.

"That's where they take away my freedom and they rob quiet off of my property and out of my personal space." I agree with him. I wish he would begin with the barking dogs at 3 AM, however.
Whoever invents the device that stops sound waves at the property line will be wealthier than Gates, Buffet, and Perot combined.

Stereo systems are a bigger nuisance. There are few things more annoying than one of these aholes driving by playing their crap and setting off car alarms in the middle of the night. Shooting said drivers should not bring serious punishment. Maybe picking up other litter from the streets. LoL.
To: H8DEMS
I happen to like the "muscle car sound" coming from a well tuned V-8. They are no louder than most motorcycles or semi's.
Sounds like this guy Huber may be testosterone challenged.

Hey, I thought this was a free country!! Boy, was I a dope.
You can't do, say, or have anything any more without offending some whining, cry-baby, bleeding heart who has nothing better to do then scream about how everyone one else should be living thier lives!

Until now, I really thought a Honda Civic was a race car. The drivers of those rice burners sure think they are. What I don't understand is, by the time you've lowered it, put the spoiler on the back, put the fancy gold rims on it, redone the exhaust system to get that coffee-can-full-of-metal-washers sound, put in the 40,000 watt stereo system with eight subwoofers, tinted the windows jet black, and put the neon lights all over the thing...you've spent enough money that you could have just bought a decent damn car in the first place. What sense does that make?
Go figure ;)

He pointed to studies showing that homes located near airports lose almost two percent of their property value per decibel level emitted by jumbo jets. Per decibel? Starting where? Maybe 2% per decibel above a certain threshold, but something's not right here.

I have a Rice Burner Rocket myself (Mazda MX6 Turbo)and I have Old Iron 66 Chevy C-10 with dual exhaust Flowmasters and I also have a 93 GMC 2500 with Flowmaster system and it's loud as hell, come to think of it their all loud as hell which is the way performance vehicles should be. They don't like the sound, roll up the windows & use your a/c.
To: H8DEMS
Mark Huber would hate my '65 Shelby. Dual exhausts exiting on the sides just in front of the rear wheels, with straight-through glasspack mufflers and tri-y headers - from the dealer. No aftermarket parts needed, it rattled the windowpanes as it was driven off the new car lot all those years ago. In fact, my exhaust system is now *quieter* than the one that was supplied by the factory. Huber should be smooching my rump for that, I reckon.
To: H8DEMS
He said Flowmaster and other companies that distribute the noisy mufflers systems specifically boast about the "deep aggressive tone" or "deep throaty rumble" that their products produceProbably just upset that he can't reproduce the sound with his Yugo.

Noise Free America spokesman Mark Huber says the manufacturers of hot rod mufflers are selling a product that is "lawlessly terrorizing" neighborhoods across America. Some people just can't stand anyone else not being as miserable as they are...this guy needs to get a life! If you don't like the noise, move to the country! Get used to it! There is no requirement that other people must meet his standards. I'm sure there's something that he does that drives other people crazy, too. Let's find out what that is, make a big fuss over that, and see how he likes it...
To: H8DEMS
Time to check on Flowmasters for the fleet - thanks.

What SHOULD be illegal is a loud muffler on a car with an automatic!!
To: H8DEMS
Sounds like another f*cking pussy dirtbag RAT bastard who has a personal identity crisis, and wants to take it out on the rest of us.
I do agree with him on one point. Flowmaster definately deserves an award, for superior products! I have Flowmasters on my 5.0 Mustang and my F-250 FWD Ford. The truck REALLY sounds great! Nothing like Flowmasters w/ headers attached to 460 cubes of V-8!

Exactly when does Huber (probably Esq.) plan to unselfishly fight for citizens everywhere? What percentage of the shakedown does he get?
Speaking from experience with my Pontiac Formula, Flowmaster makes an awesome product. In fact, many Ricers locally to me would agree: they get to hear the rumble of my 350 TPI V8 as the red blur on their left passes by.

I'm not sure what to say. On the one hand, rice boys, boom-box cars, Harleys and sportbikes, and even v-8s with glasspacks can be really annoying when they troll through my neighbourhood at night. Or did you ever have one of those boom-box cars park next to you while you're trying to eat your drive-thru meal at a fast food place, and sit there with their stereo booming so all you can here is their bass line? Yep, they're really the most annoying, as that thump-thump-thump comes right through the house.
OTOH, I have a slip-on on my bike (a Kawi ZRX 1100), and when it hits 8000 rpm or so, it will drown out any rice-boy car I've ever seen, and even in moderate riding is pretty loud. I don't imagine the folks out on the country roads I ride particularly enjoy the sound of me wailing through a corner and accelerating onto the straight.
However, I'd be willing to give up my loud pipe if something could be done about the boom-boxes, unmuffled Harleys and the rest that disturb the peace in my neighbourhood.
