A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....11-05-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

SOME OF FR'S FINEST PROFILE PAGES #6

Many Freepers have taken advantage of the opportunity to create a Profile Page. The results of these creations are often illuminating, humorous, inspirational, artistic or biographic, just to mention a few descriptive words.
Below are some randomly selected FR's Finest Profile Pages. There are, of course, many other FR's Finest Profile Pages worthy of featuring, and we will be featuring them in future editions of Some of FR's Finest Profile Pages. If you have a Profile Page you would like to share, or if you come across a Profile Page that you want to bring to our attention, you know the drill - freepmail Billie, Mama_Bear, Dansangel or myself.
In the meantime, please take a look at Some of FR's Finest Profile Pages #6.

HairOfTheDog's Profile Page is a must see for animal lovers. She has ample photos of her horses and dogs, some on her Profile Page per se and some on a link to her photo album. She also includes a short personal bio--and guys, she's single!
rdb3's Profile Page is biographical and is presented in a very interesting way. It is composed of photographs, drawings, links and poetry. View this Profile Page and you will be impressed with this very interesting FReeper.
Fiddlestix’s Profile Page is an ambitious effort by him. It has so much on it that it is impossible to describe in this allotted space. Just visit it and you will understand. It is both fun and informative.
BellStar’s Profile Page is notable for a couple of very interesting links, one to BellStar's WWII Veteran Father's Web Page and one to the Web Site of Kemah Texas, an interesting seaside city.
glock rocks Profile Page has a photo of a Glock and, if you click on the photo, it will connect you to a site that will tell you everything you will ever need to know about the Glock. Other interesting photo links on this Profile Page also.
Terry’s Take is an artist and conservative political cartoonist. She frequently changes the cartoons on her Profile Page to reflect her latest work. There is also a link to her Web Site which features even more of her work.

     1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
     2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will

come up.
     3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
     4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
     5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me an FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

VOTE EARLY & VOTE OFTEN! oops, only dims can do that!

While I was waiting to vote, the lady behind me told me that she was not even going to vote for governor as she didn't like Davis or Simon. I tried to convince her to vote Simon, but I doubt she changed her mind....she thought they were both bad.

Hey Fiens - I'm not having a good feeling about this election...doing laundry and catching some FoxNews - there are WAY TOO MANY people being bused to the polls. The turnout nation-wide could be huge which would not be good for the good guys.

Thanks for trying to shine some light into that dimbulb's dome.

Share some time with those who need you. They need our time more then we will ever know.

wow. that's excellent, jl.

this weekend my 6 and 9 yr old took turns helping me size a herd of .40 cal casings...
one would put the casing in the press, and the other pull the handle... i'm sure neither one of them really cared what we were doing, but we were together, having fun,
and spent hours discussing the really important stuff... and i admit, it's really a wonderful eye opener
to get an understanding of what's really important to your 6 and 9 yr old.

your story nigh on brought tears to this old redneck. thanks.

I went and did my duty and carried Van Hilleary's sign at my polling place...it was MISERABLE, cold, rain, giving way to heavy misting, then to just cold. I'm sipping hot chocolate to warm up.

Update on the HBO/Bush documentary..."Journeys with Bush" Saw an interview with the reporterette (Nancy Pelosi's daughter) She almost hated that she liked him and that he made himself so darn likable on the campaign trail. Saw some cuts and it looks cute.

HBO was activated here but poor Mr. D. who is leaving shortly for an evening of mens bridge (with mostly dems no less)spent the past hour trying to rehook up the VCR to the cable box to the tv so that it would record. IT WORKS! Somehow, I will find a way to make copies for all HBO impaired freepers who are interested. It runs from 9:30 - around 10:15...I'm leaving it on until atleast 11:00...don't want any dem. sabotagers to mess this up!

Major prayers for our conservative candidates tonight as well as all of the freepers who have worked hard to get them elected...and for our wonderful president and first lady....

Hi, Amy - love those balloons!

Walter, if you're here again today, take a minute and say hello. Looks like you're a brand-new FReeper. Welcome to FR.

I saw the video clip where she asked "If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?"

George said, "I'm not a tree, I'm a Bush!".

Exactly the message - kids don't care about the activity - it's just the chance to be around someone that they love and want to spend time with. You could have been playing tiddle-de-winks and they would have been just as thrilled.

Nice work with the kids and the casings. ;-)

God bless and keep you all. JL
