Mondale's winning in the sense that he showed up & he's not drooling. This is in the heart of Blue Country, after all.

you have to remember who Coleman is going for...not male voters, but women...
Coleman's tone is appropriate for women voters
To: maximus@Nashville
He looks and sounds like a grouchy, set in his ways, old man. (Mondale)
To: frmrda
I disagree. The Democrats have basically been saying that "Mondale is a monster" and "Mondale has so much gravitas". If Coleman is his equal, they have raised him up.
To: Otta B Sleepin
Seems like he's trying to "woo" over the more independent Wellstone voters ?

Why is it DFL instead of D? I don't have a definitive answer, but I think that it's nothing more than symantics. It must have something to do with the glut of farmers and laborers in this state.

"When I go back to Washington, I'll be independent! The only thing I'll be tied to is my colostomy bag!"
To: All
Jesse Ventura is p*ssed because the independent candidate is not in this debate today.
He's blaming the candidate that just became a candidate within the last week for setting the agenda for today's debate. Maybe good news for Coleman.
At one point I thought he was going to body slam one of the reporters for smiling at him.
You think this is funny?

Did Coleman defend the Bush tax cut? This is essential. Please advise.

Mondale's doctor released a statement saying he was healthy. pro-forma,means nothing. I repeat....when he gets angry, and now when he seems to hang that right hand in the air like it's numb. WATCH THAT RIGHT HAND...it's shakey.

I believe that while he started out strongly, he is tiring and becoming less coherent.

Actually, Ann's not half the man Barney used to be.

Mondale: What is wrong with employees having civil service rights? HUH?
To: *all
Homeland Security:
Mondull: Should have passed already, but the ADMIN must bend.. must allow UNION PROTECTION.
Towing the line .... UNIONS.. TAXES... BABY KILLING...
To: Otta B Sleepin
Kudos to Coleman for staying focused on homeland security bill..."Will you stand against the trial lawyers...." Mondale refused to answer question....obviously evasive...

This Norm Coleman looks like presidental material to me.He's perfect for America. He and Mondale have just agreed that America needs a new entitlement, PRESCRIPTION DRUGS FROM THE POCKETS IF OTHERS. They are debating on the details and the scope of the program, but they AGREE that America should have a NEW ENTITLEMENT.
That makes him a perfect candidate of the INCUMBENT PARTY. Free gifts for everyone!
To: Mo1
Coleman can't let him get away with that. He is being too nice to him.

He certainly is doing better, and referring to Coleman as NORM might be his way of showing the people that he considers "Norm" as a friend when speaking with him..

And NOW Mondale is talking compromise about the Homeland Security Bill???? He's waffling... he is not consistent, and I only hope the folks of Minnesota don't fall for pretty words that have no meaning.
