Clinton Makes Entrance By Trash Dumpsters (Arkansas after FReep Report)
November 3, 2002

We have just returned to Budge's house to do the FReep report because there is a lot of information to report.
In attendance were Budge, Travelgirl, The Battman, parsifal, Don Frivoinai, sweetliberty, and another FReeper who, for reasons you will come to understand shortly, needs to remain anonymous until after the election.
We arrived at Budge's around noon to get everything set up for the maiden FReep of the Arkansas Hog Wild FReepers and the FReepmobile. We got to the site around quarter after 1 and finished up some signs and headed over to the convention center to await the arrival of XXX42 and his horde of Rats. There we were joined by several folks from the Hutchinson campaign and there were quite a few folks who came down from Mount Ida. There ended up being about 30 of us on the outside.
During the wait, we were informed of quite a few "questionable" things going on. For starters, there was one young man who is active with Tim Hutchinson's campaign who was threatened with arrest if he didn't leave the premises. He had done nothing to provoke this action other than they knew who he was. One of the FReepers who is a poll watcher was also threatened with arrest when she tried to go inside the convention center. Another young man who is a Hutchinson aide had a ticket to the event and because he had been seen talkiing to the "opposition" he was not allowed in, being told that it was a private event and they could exclude whoever they wanted to. There was also a group of black folks who were with us so this young man passed his ticket to one of the black guys, who removed all his campaign stuff and went in incognito, laughing saying that they'd never suspect a black guy. Will give you his report later.
Nobody would tell us what door Clinton would be entering by so we took a chance and hung out on one side of the building where they said the car would drive by. True to form, XXX42 was late by nearly an hour. But here is the great part. We were positioned between 2 entrances. One was a major side entrance. The other was a small, fenced-in service entrance by the garbage dumpsters. Well, guess which one he used. Think....which would be most appropriate. Yep, you guessed it. The snake slithered in through the garbage entrance. And he got a look at our signs. It was a classic moment in FReeperdom.
There was a whopping 500 people or so there for the "event". There were few enough people that there was a Jehovah's Witness convention going on in the building at the same time. When Clinton arrived the Jehovah's Witnesses started leaving. At that time we didn't realize that there was another event going on and Travelgirl and The Battman asked one of the cops on duty why everyone was leaving. He responded, "if Clinton entered a room, what would YOU do?" When the Jehovah's Witnesses left, the parking lot started clearing out.
Anyway, we may have to flesh in this post after we all get home because there is a lot to tell, but there is certain information that it is very important to get out there NOW! Back to our "spy". When he came out, he said they were running it like a church service, and the whole focus was on how the evil Republicans are trying to keep them from voting. They were saying that we have all the poll watchers this election to prevent THEM from voting. Now, here is the clencher. They were told that there would be attorneys posted at every precinct to prevent poll watchers from challenging ANY ballots. Now, mind you, one of our poll watchers has already had massive problems with them at the polls during early voting the past couple of weeks and has been advised to retain an attorney. They have had the sherriff remove her from the polls twice when she had done nothing inappropriate...only challenging ballots for improper or no ID. There is an all out campaign by these people to intimidate the poll watchers and then turn around and accuse us of voter intimidation. This is serious and at least one person has some legitimate fear. I can't really elaborate at this point. The reason we wanted to get this up right away is to get other FReepers on the case to get this publicized and contact appropriate media, political and legal sources to alert them that Republican poll watchers in this county are likely to be facing an organized, all-out Rat attack. Any help that FReepers can offer is needed!! Make phone calls, send letters. Whatever you can do. Post your ideas as well.

Well, the democrats do not need to be consulted in order or such positions to be created. Seems this could be created on a federal level.

I suggest we also contact The Cato Institute, whether that be as a carbon copy or directly, with our endeavors to clean up voting. I am assuming they would be interested.

Campaign Update - November, 2002
by William J Murray
11/12/2002
THE SENATE
Here we go again ... the general election was November 5th and already we are fighting to win another seat in a special election in Louisiana to be held on December 7th.
As I mentioned in previous Campaign Updates, Louisiana handles elections like no other state. On the same day other states are holding the general election, a primary is held in Louisiana. All candidates run on the same ticket and if anyone gets more than 50%, he or she wins. If no one manages to get 50%, there is a runoff a month later between the top two, even if they are from the same party.
In the November 5th election there were a total of nine candidates on the ballot including four Republicans, three Independents and two Democrats. The incumbent, Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu, received 46% of the vote, just shy of the 50% needed to win.
Mary Landrieu should not have this Senate seat for several reasons. First, she won it six years ago with massive voter fraud. Gambling interests bused in people from other states to vote. Homeless shelters with just a few beds had hundreds of registered voters listed as living there. In New Orleans, van loads of people were taken from polling place to polling place to vote again and again. Thousands of dead people voted for her, stealing the election from a pro-life social conservative who is a good friend of mine, Woody Jenkins.
We have another pro-life social conservative candidate in the December 7th election in Louisiana; Lee Fletcher is running for the House in the 5th district. This is an open seat. On November 5th the leading Democrat, Rodney Alexander, received just 29% of the vote, while our man Lee Fletcher received 25%. There were seven candidates running for the seat and the votes for Republicans totaled 69% of the vote, but we cant take any election in Louisiana for granted. Bus loads of dead Democrats from New Orleans may show up to vote!
Government Is Not God - PAC did well in the Senate campaigns in which we were active. We won three out of four elections, having supported John Cornyn in Texas, Lindsey Graham in South Carolina, and Jim Talent in Missouri. The fourth race, in South Dakota, may yet be a win. John Thune is only 527 votes behind incumbent Senator Tim Johnson. A recount may uncover thousands of fraudulent votes on Indian reservations where the Democrats received sometimes far more than 100% of the vote.
My contacts in the Republican Senatorial Election Committee tell me they know about the massive voter fraud on the Indian reservations in South Dakota, and they have dispatched dozens of lawyers up there to take action. They plan to bring this matter to court, where the election will almost certainly be overturned. However, I think some in the Republican Party leadership may not want to pursue this issue, for fear of being termed a "racist party."
Speaking of fraud, there were heavy Democrat losses in Florida because the new voting system cost them hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes they usually cast in that state. In Wisconsin, a Milwaukee TV station used a hidden camera to record Democrat employees at a home for the mentally ill handing out ballots to patients and "helping" them fill them out. This dishonesty and fraud on the part of the Democrats must be stopped, and people should go to jail.

Give it a try...the address and fax number are on the link. The Democrats keep blocking any meaningful reform. That is why I am hopeful that Ashcroft and Company will do something this cycle.

"I am pinging everyone I can think of (some perhaps multiple times here, in which case I apologize) to suggest we start a new thread, perhaps even a dedicated portion on Free Republic, as to what steps we should take to combat vote fraud. We have had some great suggestions right here in this one thread." Let me tell you, we kicked the snot out of the vote-fraudsters here in Alabama this year.
Our Republican Attorney General (Pryor) simply mailed out postcards to every "registered" voter.
Lo and behold, a plethora of those postcards were "returned to sender" by the postoffice. Well, you have to have a valid address to vote (i.e. live in state, live in a specified precinct, et al), so all of those "bad registrations" were REMOVED from our voter registration records. All of a sudden, the dead and the out-of-staters couldn't vote this year. Heck, some of the addresses were phoney to begin with (i.e. there is no house there and never was there so the whole Registration was a sham), but most were simply voters who had died or otherwise moved on.
There you have it, one entire level of vote-fraud stopped with a simple postcard.
Alabama now leads the nation in clearing up vote fraud (we beat Florida to it).

Thought you would like to see what Joh Ashcroft had to say about vote fraud in October 2002. He states very strongly that he will go after fraud!
Prepared Remarks of Attorney General John Ashcroft
Voting Integrity Symposium
October 8, 2002
(Note: The Attorney General Often Deviates From Prepared Remarks)
Today, we gather at a unique moment in America's history; a time in which the work of those who dedicate their lives to protecting America, our citizens, and our values has never been more important. One year and twenty-six days ago, enemies of liberty struck this nation, leaving us with two choices: to succumb to fanatics who seek to extinguish political and religious freedom, fanatics who would enslave women, corrupt education and kill Americans wherever and whenever they can; or to fight in defense of lives and liberties - in defense of freedom to speak, freedom to worship, the freedom to educate boys and girls, freedom to work, and the freedom from fear.
America has chosen to fight. And chief among the values for which we fight is our right to chart our own national destiny. The right of citizens to vote and have their vote count is the cornerstone of our democracy - the necessary precondition of government of the people, by the people and for the people.
Enforcing the laws that guarantee voting rights and punish voting fraud is the duty of the Department of Justice. More than mere law enforcement, our responsibility to protect the access to and integrity of elections is the responsibility of upholding freedom itself. Today, four weeks from elections that will determine one-third of the membership of the United States Senate and the entire membership of the House of Representatives, electoral accessibility and integrity are the urgent challenges of our democracy, and they are the reasons for this unprecedented gathering of the nation's justice officials.
America is a nation whose founding documents and most inspired words uphold the ideal of democratic self-government as a model for the world. The opening phrases of the Declaration of Independence declare that governmental power, if it is to be just, must be derived from the consent of the governed. The Constitution begins, purposefully and deliberately, with these three words: "We the people . . ."
These words have inspired millions of freedom seeking people throughout the world. But we cannot consummate - we cannot honor - the ideal of democracy with our words alone. Our actions demonstrate our commitment to self-government far above our ability to add or detract with mere words -- and our actions have not always been exemplary.
All Americans know -- or should know -- of the instances in our history when our deeds have fallen short of our commitment to democracy. For long periods of our history, America failed to grant African-Americans and women the right to vote. Later in our history, subtler but no less insidious forms of disenfranchisement occurred. Laws were passed that required African-Americans to take a reading test or interpret a passage of the Constitution in order to vote. Some people were not allowed to register to vote unless they brought along someone already registered who would vouch for their, quote, "good character."
And America has failed too often to uphold the right of every citizen's vote, once cast, to be counted fairly and equally. Votes have been bought, voters intimidated and ballot boxes stuffed. The polling process has been disrupted or not completed. Voters have been duped into signing absentee ballots believing they were applications for public relief. And the residents of cemeteries have infamously shown up at the polls on election day.
Political war stories like these are often told with a grin, but these failures of our democracy are no laughing matter. There is nothing funny about winning an election with stolen votes. And there is no occasion for mirth by the campaigns that commit these offenses. All of us pay the price for voting fraud. For when the right to vote is infringed, self-government is damaged. The national will is thwarted. The democratic ideal itself is assaulted.
The strength of our democracy demands that we fulfill the rights of both ballot access and ballot integrity -- to guarantee to every citizen, in accordance with the law, the right to vote, and to every voter the right to be counted.
So we come together today to renew our democratic compact with the American people. We gather here, in this Great Hall of Justice, to begin a new ethic of enforcement of our voting rights.
On October 1st, I issued a directive to all United States Attorneys announcing the creation of a Department-wide Voting Access and Integrity Initiative. Leading this initiative are Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division, Ralph Boyd, and Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division, Michael Chertoff.
We have created this precedent-setting Voting Access and Integrity Initiative for two reasons: first, to enhance our ability to deter discrimination and election fraud, and second, to prosecute violators vigorously whenever and wherever these offenses occur.
Our goal is to work cooperatively with civil rights leaders and state and local election officials to prevent election offenses and to bring violators to justice.
Our means are a national mobilization of the resources of the Department of Justice.
And our message is clear and unequivocal: the Department of Justice will investigate and prosecute voting rights and election fraud offenses.
To provide on-the-ground investigative and prosecutorial coordination, I have asked each United States Attorney to designate a District Election Officer responsible for the 2002 election cycle. These officers are experienced Assistant U.S. Attorneys whose mission is to help guarantee access, honesty and integrity at the polls on election day.
Today, we have brought together all designated District Election Officers for this day of intensive training in voting rights and election offenses. Throughout the day, these officers will hear from officials in the Civil Rights Division who are charged with enforcing the laws prohibiting racial discrimination and voter intimidation. Enforcement of the laws governing absentee voting for uniformed and overseas citizens as well as elderly citizens and citizens with disabilities will be covered in detail. And election officers will renew our commitment to providing language assistance to voters with limited proficiency in English.
The Civil Rights Division has already had considerable success, working with the Department of Commerce, in facilitating the capacity of all citizens to participate fully in the electoral process. Earlier this year, the Civil Rights Division worked successfully with the Commerce Department to secure the early release of 2000 Census data that will determine which districts receive language assistance. As a result, thousands of citizens in 80 jurisdictions who would not have received assistance before will be provided help in exercising fully their voting rights on election day. Fulfilling this obligation took extraordinary effort on behalf of Secretary Don Evans, Commerce Department staff and Civil Rights Division officials. I commend all of those individuals who made possible this enhancement of our voting rights.
Election officers have also heard from the leadership of the Criminal Division -- the men and women who supervise the enforcement of the laws against voter fraud. These experts have prosecuted dozens of cases involving voting rights abuses, and they will share what they have learned with those here today.
Tomorrow, our District Election Officers will take this training out into their own districts. I have asked each U.S. Attorney and FBI Special Agent in Charge to meet with state officials who handle election violations in each district, in order to underscore the Department's commitment to preventing - and, if necessary, investigating and prosecuting - election fraud and voting rights offenses. I am also asking U.S. Attorneys, Election Officers and FBI officials to explore ways in which the Department can work more closely with state and local election and law enforcement authorities to deter and detect discrimination, prevent electoral corruption, and bring violators to justice.
And on election day, the Justice Department will dedicate all available resources to ensuring access and integrity at the polls through our Election Day Program. This Program was established more than a quarter of a century ago to respond to public concerns about the integrity of the election process. When the polls open, every available resource of the Department of Justice - both in Washington and in the U.S. Attorneys' districts - will be available to handle complaints, open investigations and prosecute offenses. Every office will be open. All federal investigators and prosecutors will be on call to help ensure the accessibility, honesty, and integrity of the election.
In the past several weeks, I have met personally with state and local officials. I have met personally with leaders in the civil rights community and leaders of national ethnic groups. My message to them is my message to you: the Department of Justice will use all available means within the law to provide access, prevent fraud and prohibit the intimidation of voters on November 5.
This is our compact with the American people. Our role is to train, to educate and ultimately to enforce - when and if the laws are violated. Our pledge is to ensure justice for all American voters.
But we recognize also the indispensable role that states and counties play in the administration of elections. We appreciate and acknowledge the volunteers, the poll workers, and the state and county election officials.
All of us depend on the dedication of these Americans for the opportunity to exercise our voting rights - to make our voices heard in the great American commitment to democracy.
Today, it is more important than ever before that we embrace the privilege that makes us unique among the peoples, nations and societies of human history. Our way of life is not a given, and our freedom is not an accident. Liberty is a rare gift for which millions have worked and suffered and sacrificed and died. It now falls to us to guard this gift from those who would destroy it. It falls to us, the free, to ensure that the cornerstone of our freedom - government of the people, by the people, and for the people - does not perish from the earth.
Thank you very much.

There you have it, one entire level of vote-fraud stopped with a simple postcard. And this is just one level of many! By the time the infestation is cleaned up the RAT'S won't be able to cobble together more than half a dozen legal voters anywhere heh, heh.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I have begun working on an outline for a new thread. It may take a little time. There is a lot to organize. I am collecting relevant information and links from this thread as references and we can add to it. Maybe if we can post this as an ongoing thread we can really build a good data base of relevant information and form a cooperative coalition of FReepers to work at stamping out Rat fraud and doing progress reports for our respective areas. I'll keep y'all posted.

TheLion.......excellent find!!!!
This is the AG mission statement, IMO, concerning elections. Dated 10/02, it clearly applies to THIS past and future election procedures, processes, and prevention methods. It gives us names, and it gives us titles of individuals to find their names.....very good for future reference in contacting them. As a mission statement, it also hold everyone accountable, including AG, to these aims and arms us with the ability to quote from this statement and use against certain people whose agenda, for personal reasons, does not comply with the stated goals.
Sweetliberty, this should definitely head up your thread....use Ashcrofts words/goals as THE guideline for our own "mission statement" (written in FReeper words, of course).
