Near al-Shalamcha, Basra, south of Baghdad, at the Iranian border, Iranians and Iraqis found "new"

The war ended in 1988. This time 70 Iraqis and 234 Iranians coffins were swapped.

This body exchanges are usually followed by transfer of jets [and perhaps now WMD?] from Iraq to Syria and Iran.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

U.S. Helicopter Provides Vital Lift to Docs Treating Epidemic By Kathleen T. Rhem
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Oct. 29, 2002 -- A U.S. Special Forces helicopter provided
a much-needed lift to three civilian doctors working to treat a
suspected whooping cough epidemic in the Darwaz area of Afghanistan.

The disease, also called pertussis, is believed to have claimed the
lives of 70 to 200 children in the area, a U.S. Joint Staff spokesman
said in the Pentagon today.

Earlier this week, representatives of the World Health Organization
asked the U.S. military for transportation support because of the
severe nature of the outbreak and the remoteness of the region.

A U.S. MH-47 Chinook picked up the three doctors, from the aid group
Aga Khan Development Network, and 15 boxes of supplies in Faisabad and
transported them to Darwaz, the spokesman said. The supplies included
enough vaccine for up to 2,000 people, antibiotics and other medical
supplies.

Because of road conditions in the region, the doctors' only other
option would have been to ride three days on horseback. The doctors
were carrying vaccine that can only remain out of refrigeration for 48
hours, the Joint Staff spokesman said.

The mission was further complicated by high elevation. Darwaz, in the
Badhakshan Province, is at about 15,000 feet above sea level. Most
helicopters can't fly at that elevation because the air is too thin to
provide lift. The spokesman said a Chinook is best suited for missions
at this elevation.

Prior to the 1940s, whooping cough killed up to 200,000 Americans a
year. Since then, infants in America have been routinely vaccinated
against pertussis. The disease, a respiratory infection caused by an
easily transmitted bacteria, is not a major public-health concern in
this country.

Experts with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in
Atlanta estimate as many as 300,000 people, mostly children, die from
pertussis each year in countries that don't routinely vaccinate against
the disease.

That's a mighty pretty girl in the middle....

I was thinking that, too. Baised on my adventures in the middle east, there are a lot of very beautiful women there. Too bad their men treat them like slaves.

Nobody but nobody, no matter how vile, could look that much like a grubby bugger without practicing in front of a mirror.

Astounding to read of whooping cough killing so many kids! God bless our military for taking those docs into the area with the vaccine.

I've actually heard people in this country complaining about all the vaccines our kids get early. There is little understanding any more about the horror of watching your baby slowly choke to death.

The Afghans are fatalistic about early death for their poeple. After receiving medical care from our brave medical warriors, hopefully they will begin to value human life more.

Abraham Lincoln crew drilling to strains of "Battle Hymn of the Republic"--They wield "His terrible swift sword".

Four soldiers to a box: of air? Saddam may be holding a live American:

Lt. Commander Michael Scott Speicher per Amy Waters Yarsinske's No One Left Behind.

Indeed, Putin and the Russians saved seven hundred who otherwise would surely have been murdered.

Pooty-Poot should be on board with us instead of obstructing in the Security Council.

As for Kuwait, per The Rape of Kuwait by Jean P. Sasson, Knightsbridge, 1991, the leaders of Kuwait now should be publicly caned--

We saved their people from being fed into Saddam's grinder--

And saved the Saudis as well--

As for Yassir the Chancre, the comment Ari Fleischer made about "one bullet" and Saddam Hussein should be assigned to the Egyptian terrorist.

Saddam will be administered an overdose of B-2 as the coup de grace when the finest fighting force on earth has pinned him to a set of coordinates.

Your daily newsreel is a combination of the 'fifties Army features titled "The Big Picture" and the Silvertone Newsreels of wartime--stirring.

Long may you wave, Diogenesis.

that's been irking the hell out of me. the russians managed to save some 750 lives (last I heard, anyway) with a loss of 117 in an extremely difficult tactical scenario. 117/750 = 0.85 or 85% rate of redemption. Any HRT pro could tell you that that is impressive as hell. The media is proving with every item they broadcast that they are pro-islamicist anti-western PC idiots.
