This is a LONE NUT...chances are he visits elderly parents/grandparents regularly and THEY don't have a clue...and I stil believe in my heart...he has parents SOMEWHERE who truly believe he is at college and attending classes...THIS sniping stuff started at the beginning of the FALL semester...I still believe we have a "Columbine admirer" who is playing out the fantasy in a community vs a high school campus.
White college student - male - affluent family (they are paying his way through college he doesn't have to work) - rifle was given as a "gift" a few years ago - he has become comfortable firing it at a range with relatives - relatives TRULY believe he is a "responsible gun owner/user" - he is a loner at college - people in the dorm don't pay him much attention - he is extremely intelligent probably doesn't have to study as much as others - borderline genius - he looks very young for his age probably "geeky" looking- probably has been a victim of severe bullying in high school - he has an excuse for leaving the dorm to commit the crimes (lies he has a job or going to do something innocuous or fellows in the dorm don't really care) - parents/grandparents live in Richmond VA area - probably is well behaved quiet and shy in the company of adults (older family members) - he is an ardent NON smoker and NON drinker...probably raised in a very religous home...views everyone as a sinner - is a lone child NO siblings - was adopted - never developed a "bond" with his adoptive parents and these people through a religous message remind him that his REAL family abandoned him and he should be "grateful" to them - he is still a virgin.
I am sticking with this to the end...and when I am proven wrong (IF that happens) I will not beat myself up over it.

Agreed 100 percent. I'm not sure he's acting alone (though he probably is) so I add the occasional pluralisations just in case. I am beginning to get a few other suspicians about him, however, and if ANY of those ideas turn out to be right, the people charging this investigation may very well have hell to pay. For that reason, I'm keeping my suspicians to myself and hoping they're wrong.
I think whomever the guy is, he's got something against the US military in genral, US foreign policy in particular and spends a lot of time on the computer. He probably hangs around protest marches...probably even participates. He is enjoying the fact that his murders have overshadowed the elections. Makes him feel powerful, probably more powerful than hiding out and sniping at innocent people does (his idea of personal justification?).
I swear, I have an alibi for the times of the shootings!
Montgomery County has lots of Hispanics. They're definitely underrepresented among the victims.
Also no black women. I wonder why that is. Would, say, a Nation of Islam type be willing to kill black men (and boys!) but not black females?
That's a very interesting observation.
I have thought on occasion that I'm in trouble if there are ever any crimes in my area that bring back the 'lone white male loner-type' profile. I don't own a gun, but I have a bunch of true crime novels, am a Republican, and live in a rural area, among other things.
I know the Haitian man was Catholic -- his funeral was in a Catholic church in D.C., and the news reports spoke of how religious he was. I suspect a number of the other victims were also Catholic.
I am certain that none of the victims was Moslem, because, if any of them had been, the PC press would have been sure to tell us.
I don't think Iraq has any diplomatic representation in Washington any longer. I think their only diplomats in this country are with the U.N. in NYC. I wonder if somebody in that embassy has been able to transmit texts to the sniper. I wonder if the U.S. government knows who is the station chief of the Iraqi intelligence service in that embassy. It might be fruitful to tail him. If the reports are true that some of the sniper's communications have been in German, it would also be useful to know if any of the diplomats in that embassy have spent time in a German-speaking country.
HEY bud...if you looked like you were about 12 when you were 25, then take it from me, the voice of experience: when you're....uh...my age....you will embarras the heck out of people who think you're younger than you are. I got carded when I was 35...hadn't brought my license with me, because I was just along for the drive. The bartender gave me "The Look" (I was one for 10 years...I'm very familiar with The Look, but from the other side of the bar) I knew it was coming and YEP, she carded me.
Place was packed. Good thing I'm tall for a woman and was able to scan the crowd. I saw two people I've known for years and...uh...hailed them (I can rattle windows when necessary) without ever leaving the bartender's side. They came and vouched for me. I got my revenge...still managed to embarrass her. She got off easy. Male bartenders get a TAD more embarrassed.
Moral of the story: when you're a LOT older, you'll be a LOT more grateful for looking a LOT younger than you do. Things always even out in the end that way.
