I heard, but can not give you any claim of accuracy that the plane can view an area of about 45 miles. This morning's incident was 45 miles away from the last.

That's a very interesting theory. What makes me wonder about this French soldier is that he's been AWOL since September 2nd, yet the government of France didn't report him to Interpol until sometime in the last few days. By my reckoning, this angle was brought up after that five-day hiatus ended with the shooting on Saturday night in Ashland County.

The longer this unfortunate episode continues....it may never be solved.....the more I realize that truly....I DON"T KNOW JACK about this one anymore. I have thought Islamist since the getgo and I still lean that way but there has been so much disinformation and whatnot....it is impossible to even guess well anymore.

The absolute randomness of the choice of victim demographics puzzles me....of course now it looks like he's(they are) threatening children. Strike terror....which brings me back to my first gut instinct after the first few killings.

And the recording of the phone calls they made with the alleged sniper. Someone might recognize the voice.

I agree with you. Earlier this morning, I posted that even if the Snipers are Beevis and Butthead on Ritalin/Paxil and as white as Bill Clintoon's legs, the al Qaeda leadership thanks to PC police chiefs now know how to with minimal men terrorize most of this country.

Just send a cell of snipers to live in a city with a PC police chief, a liberal mayor and liberal mediots. Learn the roads and escape routes. Then, follow the role model of this sniper/sniper POA and terrorize Denver, St Louis, Atlanta, Philly, LA, Seattle, Portland, Houston __________ fill in the blank.

My response to you was that the Brits emptied London and key cities of their children. We have several friends who live here now, who went to the country to live with relatives or were just sent there to avoid the air raids. Their parents for the most part stayed and went on with their everyday life like you suggested.

Home schooling will be a possible option as well as sending children to live with relatives in smaller towns until we get a handle on this.

All these shootings, men, women, even children would be worth it to you, if you could turn it into a political statement, wouldn't it?

Go pray that the shooter entered the US illegally, and after Bush took office, so that your political agenda can be advanced at the expense of innocent people's blood.

If it is inside information, (as is suggested on another thread) that this is definately NOT Muslum, why would they have gone to talk to those prisoners in the first place?

Terror it is. But... this doesn't look to be the work of an Islamo religious fanatic. Especially if the following is true:

“A senior law enforcement official speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity said Tuesday a letter found near the scene of Saturday night's sniper shooting in Virginia suggested the killer wants several million dollars.”

Crime of passion? Doesn't add up - at least not yet. This guy seems to be an extreme version of the human garbage that parades for attention on shows like Jerry Springer and Maury Povitch. Only difference is this guy appears to have an above-average IQ and is a total sociopath with no concept of conscience.

And yet there hasn't been an anthrax attack in more than a year. But there have been no arrests, no suspects, and no solid leads in that case.

Precisely! Bush said that certain aspects of this war on terror will be fought covertly - we will not know of the success. The anthrax investigators look incompetent and the case is not closed, but the letters stopped. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen with the snipers.

What we do see regarding the anthrax is the mass training of medical people, the stockpiling of Cipro, Iraq acting like a caged animal right after, the personal warning visit to the Iraq embassy, the Iraq funding of other terrorism in Palestine ("watch the birdie" redirect) and so on. All of this smacks of covert operations to me. But that's just my two cents...

My thoughts are we should round up the Muslims and offer them deportation or isolation in camps until threat is over.

Then I have thought we might have to tell the terrorists, "stop the terrorism immediately or we will drop a nuclear bomb on country X." Of course we would have to be prepared to do that if the terrorism didn't cease.

Before it is over I believe it could come to this.

I think roadblocks, surveillance, etc., are likely to be ineffective because there is too much ground to cover and there are too many places where you can find cover, get off a shot, and be miles away - or just mingling among the crowd - before police arrive on the scene. I think the case will only be broken if police get a good tip from someone who knows the killer and becomes suspicious, allowing police to monitor his actions BEFORE an attempted shooting, rather than trying to catch up with him AFTER a shooting.
