I heard or read somewhere that these kind of attacks are happening in other cities. More reason to turn Iraq into a parking lot and than move on the next country until the terrorists get the message that terror is a losing battle. And maybe the 'moderate' muslims will than be forced to do something about the terrorists in their own backyard. I hate to say it but I really think it's going to come that, nuke an Arab city until they get the message. What are their grievances besides the Israeli issue ? We all know that is smoke and mirrors for the real reason.

No longer do I think this is AQ or Hamas or any other of those groups. I'm thinking now that the French sniper was hired by Saddam to stop the war by threatening us this way. That's why the fed govt got involved in this.

There have been 2 articles in the past day about war plans being on ice, the President now thinking that we'll go with the UN deadlines of 135 days. And the irony of using a French citizen must be making Saddam laugh out loud.

Anyway, that's my theory and I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks for being one of the few it seems who is not trying to trash Chief Moose for the lack of success in tracking down this killer. He's just a honest-seeming cop who's suddenly had the biggest case of his life drop squarely in his lap. I doubt he likes or wants all the notoriety he has found.

Thanks for the ping. Children will (and should) be kept at home now until this monster(s) is put down. It is amazing that no one has forwarded any good leads so far, even with the $500,000 reward and everyone looking around. Either the monster has no suspicious neighbors or is being helped.

My opinion is based on looking at it in its altogether. The "your" children phrase, the "anywhere, anytime" being the terms of Iraq weapons inspections, the discipline required to pull it off, the cold-bloodedness, events in other parts of the world, ingress/egress skill, reacting to newscast observations of things that haven't been done yet, the terror training manuals, the warnings and the similarity to the anthrax terror sampling.

Anyway, it's just my two cents...

I think he didn't announce the threat against children earlier because it might cause the shooter to feel he had to "make good" on his threat. For that reason, I was really angry at the school officials who leaked that info to protect their sorry backsides from criticism about closing the schools. Ever since I heard that the bus driver, Mr. Johnson was dead...I have had a sinking feeling. Then the message about "our children..." turned the sinking feeling into a chilling hatred towards the killer.
