Yes, a "Do Not Sleep" warning/response like that steely-eyed sheriff out in San Diego had is the approach I'd like to hear. It instills a great deal more confidence in their efforts and it is more in keeping with the mindset of most Americans.

Perhaps of greater interest will be the sniper's reaction. I've stated that I think at least one more shooting today probable, most likely after sundown. After watching the press conference, I'd not be surprised if a kid is the target. Any one else got the sniper figured that way?

I detected a slight possibility that terrorists may be involved by Moose's comments about our resolve our country etc, a change IMO from his past statements, anyone else notice this or am I reading something not there?

Chief Moose is going thru hell right now, and he needs to back off, let someone else take over for awhile and get some rest.

If we are not going t obe told the truth, or told what is happening behind the scenes (and we don't need to know what is going on behiond the scenes and neither does the media), I would really prefer that the conferences be limited.

Limited to giving status of victims, or that another shooting has occured. But stop there. Stop giving the shooter air time, stop feeding the shooter's ego, stop giving the shooter new targets, and STOP informing the shooter of LE's plans via the media!

All networks should just report the bare minimum, keep their theorists off the air, and move on to other stories. Only update us when there is something vitally important for us to know. JMO

Surveyors are good observers and recognize things out of order. The majority of them, at least where I am, are good hunters, also.

I'm sure anyone of them who thought they saw something strange wouldd report it. But it might be worth notifying the local and State Surveyors Association.

It appears more than a few of us have. That was a noticeable departure for him. That was not the sort of comment you would normally expect from a local law enforcement individual chasing a lone nutcase, IMO.

Wonderful post. Got a tear in my eye with that one. Funny thing, I can still remember the names of all the neighbors on my childhood street, along with their kids and even some of their pets, but could only name a couple of my current neighbors. I would really love to pick up my wife and kids and climb into the TV during "Leave it to Beaver" or "Andy Griffith" or you name the 50-early 60 shows and just live a good, clean, happy peaceful live. Our kids and more importantly our grandkids will never know such fun, happiness and peace. Our world is changing too fast. And not good change.
