A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/17/02

President Bush headed on the campaign trail once again today as he took a day trip to Georgia and Florida. While in Georgia, Bush stumped for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Sonny Perdue and senatorial candidate Saxby Chambless at a Republican fund-raiser in Atlanta. The President then headed to Florida, and was greeted by his brother, Jeb. President Bush promoted reading at Read-Patillo Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach and later spoke via satellite to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Parts of the trial were on all three Orlando stations that we get. All three stations showed a close up of them handcuffing her. My heart broke for her and the family.

Kitkat, you mentioned going to Jeb's website to offer prayers for the family and the daughter. Do you know his address? He sent congratulations to the Georgia lady who reported the suspicious activity of the three men, and I wanted then to thank him.

I'm not in the loop lately...what news about Noelle?

Jeb and Columba's daughter was sentenced to 10 days in jail in connection with the incident at her drug treatment center last month. The police had been called because a staff member said that some crack cocaine was found in Noelle's shoe. At the time, the police said tht no charges would be filed because it wasn't clear that it was Noelle's; someone could have put it there to get her in trouble. I guess they determined it WAS hers because she's now in jail. I'd forgottten that when I saw the pics earlier in the Dose of the two brothers hugging so tightly. Later I remembered about the arrest, and guessed that Dubya was giving Jeb some big brotherly support.

Sooo sad about Noelle.

I have a childhood friend who came from a wonderful Christian home. She had surgery and got hooked on pain relievers...after writing scripts in different counties and 2 states she was put in prison for 8 years (after also being in rehab 3 times). Got out 2 months after her mother died from ovarian cancer...her father and mother were raising one of her 4 children. She went back on drugs and last week ended up in the ICU - coma and life support as a result of OD. Last we heard she was conscious and responding...waiting for further updates.

This can happen in the best of families. Prayers heavenward for Noelle and her family. <><

rintense, thank you so much. Beautiful pictures of the two handsome brothers embracing. They both need our prayers right now - so many people are out to destroy them.

Reading the stories about the voter fraud in South Dakota is pretty frightening - we have to consider that the Rats are doing it everywhere, they just got caught red-handed in South Dakota. Hopefully the Feds will be all over Florida so that Jeb doesn't have the election stolen from him.

** From what I have been told, he was an addict of booze for quite some time. And rumors suggest other things, too. **

I don't take rumors as truth so wouldn't depend on them as such. President Bush did admit to a weakness for alcohol and has indeed been delivered from that. :o)

I do agree that the Lord can deliver one out of addiction...have seen it happen...have also witnessed where the person refused to change even though they knew God wanted to save them from it. A person has to *want* to change in order for God to work.

Just checking in on the thread, and find it very interesting that someone who just registered October 17 is dropping veiled hints about "other" addictions, the Bush family's parenting style, etc. all to be HELPFUL and CHRISTIAN, of course.

Oh, THANK YOU! I just read Betty4Bush's latest post and was seething.

As a Christian, I object to such mealy mouthed, "helpful" comments by those who deliver compliments with one hand and slap in the face with the other.

Thank you, MM! I thought it was just me. It is unusual for posters to preach TO ONE ANOTHER on this thread, and I was getting uncomfortable, myself. We are all well-versed in "who is supposed to have done what," and what is rumor and what is not, and who is hounded by the media and who is not, and how we feel about all the aforementioned, and we are secure in our own beliefs.

I hope that we continue on the positive tone of this well-established thread.

I have seen the same pattern on the earlier Noelle Bush threads and the Jenna threads. In my opinion, there are people who use the failings of others in order to advance their agenda by assuming the guise of a very judgemental Christian.

The purpose is to both sow seeds of doubt in the base and make Christian conservatives look bad.

That is my opinion, and I am sticking to it.
