A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/17/02

President Bush headed on the campaign trail once again today as he took a day trip to Georgia and Florida. While in Georgia, Bush stumped for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Sonny Perdue and senatorial candidate Saxby Chambless at a Republican fund-raiser in Atlanta. The President then headed to Florida, and was greeted by his brother, Jeb. President Bush promoted reading at Read-Patillo Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach and later spoke via satellite to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Do you think Jeema Catta will return his Nobel Peace Prize? considering they based their decision in part for his and Bill Clinton's "Triumphant" success in 1994 when they were able to reach a monumental diplomatic solution that haulted the Nuclear Weapons program N. Korea was about to undertake and it was Jimmy Carter who was willing to sit down with the Dictator and convince him to promise not to continue the weapons program and allow inspectors in in exchange for 6 billion dollars worth of our latest nuclear power plants and economic aid. OUCH! That was news to me-now I have lost all the brotherly love (genuine, needful, generous love) glow and am simply ANGERED that the media has not pressed this fact home. Damn the lies! I could just slap peter jennings and the rest of those miserable liars...SLAP them with the TRUTH! Your point about revoking the Nobel Prize is well taken. I guess Jeemie Catta and Billy Boy couldn't find the time to trust but verify.
THE ENTIRE WORLD IS PAYING FOR BILLY CLINTON's LACK OF ATTENTION TO FOREIGN DIPLOMACY.

I agree with you that family members who do not hold public positions should be left alone by the media. But x42's daughter travelled the world on our nickel, campaigned for her mother, and even sat in on meetings at Camp David over the Middle East situation ...... those actions make her fair game. Admittedly, I've seen a lot of comments on FR that went way too far but I don't think Chelsea should be allowed to have her cake and eat it, too. If she's going to interject herself into political or public matters then she's open to the publicity.
When George P. Bush campaigned for his uncle, it was certainly fair for the press to cover that ...... but neither the Bush twins nor Noelle has done that so they should be off limits.
And the double standard is sooooooo obvious. I know that Gore's son got caught for speeding in NC during the 2000 'rat convention ...... and the media suppressed the story. The family even managed to have the case postponed until after the election.

I have read reports that they are there when it is not a media event. The woman is an adult. Hopefully she will take her lumps and fly right.

Someone prolly answered you already but here's a tidbit. I heard an interview of someone around the time W was running for, or newly elected to be, president, in which it was reported that, during 41's presidency, the future 43 did some research on the historical chances of a son of a sitting president being elected to a governorship while his father was still president. Chances = 0. So W decided to postpone running for governor of Texas. And aren't we glad he waited?

And JFK's appointment of RFK resulted in an anti-nepotism sanction against relatives of sitting presidents occupying Cabinet posts, I believe.

Do you think Jeema Catta will return his Nobel Peace Prize? The words "prying" and "cold dead hands" spring to mind here.
