"Makes me think it may have been an activation card to active other silent cells." trying to follow the logic, if it was an "activation card" as you call it for other cells, WHY would they (the shooter who left it) want it kept quiet ???

It's been a few years since I replied to anything, long time lurkin, but now it's time to jump back in the pit. How do I say this.....normally, terrorists will claim responsibility for their activity, this hasn't been done. They want you to know who it is that's bringing the turmoil. And if it is Al Qeada?, you can bet that it's more than just two people involved. It took a great deal of planning for Sept.11, so you can be sure that this has been well planned too, and by more than just 2. Just my opinion.

"and be en route before the victim hit the ground--hence no real eyewitnesses."That's what they want everybody to think, but they ain't gettin' on the hwy. Not until they're done with the evasion and heading home.

I THINK THE SNIPERS ARE AL QAEDA
In a word, no.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for this. Terrorists want everyone to know that they are the ones doing it so they gain the most emotional impact for their buck.
It's not their style. They prefer attacking targets that are representative of the U.S. not the American people. I'm sure this isn't getting much news time anywhere else in the world other than here. Those guys live on publicity.
FWIW, here's my amateur profile on the shooter. White male, between ages of 27-35, prior military service, general or bad conduct discharge, fascination with firearms and serial killers. Possibly married at one time, if he was it failed miserably. Single, no close attachments, loner type. Normal features, short haircut, one possibly two, military type tattoos. High school education, little if any college. No really marketable trade skills.
One thing he isn't is middle eastern. Write it down.
I'll bet you any amount of money you want to bet that he's not middle eastern.

What better way to ensure that something is said than to tell someone not to tell it. Seems to have worked doesn't it. Card says (reported by Fox today) "Do not let the News know about the card".

Would a moslem use the phrase "I am God"? I should like to point out the simple fact
that the phrase "I am God" occurs many times
in the Christian Bible.
(ex. Genesis 17:1, 26:24)
As a quotation from holy scripture
(which I presume this might be)
a moslem certainly could use this phrase.
The Christian Bible is a sacred text for moslems
and I assume the phrase "I am Allah" occurs many times
in the Koran as well.

I don't know much about white muslims but was wondering about Bosnian or Serbian snipers (remember "Sniper's Alley in Sarajevo?). Any one know about them? Aren't they Caucasian?
To: GoreNoMore
ha...ok, you saying the 'terrorist shooter' is using reverse psychology.
hmmmmmmm....I dunno...I'm suspending belief on that one! ;)
If you're proven right, please ping me to gloat! lol

I sat down and tried to figure out how many serial killer pairs there have been in the last 100 years. I came up with 3 cases and only 3.
Buono and Bianchi, the Hillside Stranglers.
Leonard Lake and Charles Ng.
Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole
We all know it's not unusual for terrorist cells to work in teams. I would find it hard to believe that two nut cases who are experts in marksmenship as well as evading capture would meet up, decide to go on a killing spree that would terrorize an entire area. Terrorists on the other hand.

"Nobody has claimed responsibility for this. Terrorists want everyone to know that they are the ones doing it so they gain the most emotional impact for their buck. " Since the topic is Al-Qaeda, I think it would be better to ask "is Al-Qaeda quick to claim responsibility for terrorism?" The answer is no. So far, Al-Qaeda's pattern is to make a vague threat, which after a little while is followed by some action which appears, in a rough and ambiguous way, to fulfill the threat. Only slowly does it come out that they did it, the better to (a)mess with or heads, and (b), get the judicial purists (Carter, Gore, Annan and half of Europe)to argue against counter-action because we don't have "incontrovertible proof."
I am not at all convinced this is Al-Qaeda, but it is foolish to rule them out, given AQ's emphasis on small arms training, including how to use small arms for terroristic purposes.
To: KsSunflower
If this is a terrorist plot, they would get much more mileage from using different groups in cities across the country. If this happened say in St. Louis and then Denver and then Charlotte, and then Milwaukee, etc. there would be much more hysteria, everywhere. That's true, but this type of action requires fairly in-depth knowledge of the "terrain". Knowing when and where to shoot and then get away isn't easy, when you stack up so many incidents in such a short time.

My real hope is that I am wrong. I would hate to think that by reporting the tarrot card, we had activated cells that could cause this terror throught the country.

throught = through out

Wow! Your angry white man analysis is really something else! You really think this?
To: LSUfan
This is a very good post. Thank you for making us all think. I'm afraid you may be right.

"In fact, one of [the Al Fuqra] students shot and killed a young Deputy here..."
I had forgotten that. I certainly hope Al Fuqra is being looked at very, very closely.

I don't think so. The guy(s) doing this are pretty smart with access to military weaponary (review the bullets used). Raghead terrorists are just too f*ckin stupid to elude police after 10 or so attacks. You call people who pulled off what they did on 911 stupid? I think not. They were not the stupid ones.
