Where did Blair get the idea that Jesse Jackson solved any crime or black youth problem? Also does he really think that the Black people in this country really believe that Jesse Jackson is relevant? He has been protesting and preaching for years and hasn't made a dent in stopping Black crime. Actually he is always sticking up for the worst of the bunch. Most Black people I know think Jesse is a hypocrite.

A couple of years ago, when I stated that the number of violent crimes committed by blacks against both whitee and blacks was far, far, out of proportion their numbers, I was attacked mercilessly by some of the PC police here for daring to state a fact that most of us already know. (Yes, they ARE here, just not to the extent of other boards.)

When I posted a very comprehensive Dept of Justice page proving my point complete with charts, graphs, and links, the silence was deafening.

FYI, almost half of all violent crimes are committed by blacks. And most of their victims are other blacks.

As I have noted over the years, the only muggers that are black are black muggers. I never have had a problem with blacks, but I've had a few "social encounters" with white boys like me both in the miltary and out in the "real world."

And I spent 5 years as a grad student at the U. of Chicago visiting black friends (technicians, animal caretakers, and students in my professor's lab)in their homes and occasionally returning by myself to some very good black- and Chinese-owned eateries that they put me onto........

I have often thought the roots of crime are cultural. But does this give creedence to a genetic argument?

Thomas Sowell just did a series of columns on IQ and race. He said that black females (at least African-American females) tend to have considerably higher IQ's than their male counterparts. It is certainly possible to imagine cultural explanations for this, but it is also possible to imagine biological ones. I believe I have read that high levels of testosterone reduce intelligence. I should think they also increase aggressiveness.
