I would have driven the kid also, if for no other reason than the fear of another shot. She got him to a hospital that, albiet not equiped properly for such massive trauma, they could start transfusions and try to staunch the blood flow. A doctor and nurse would be with the child on the helicopter flight, working on him as needed. The biggest threat to his life would be bleeding out, and who is to say that would not have happened if the mother had not taken the action she did.

Can you imagine having dropped off your child, leaving for work and hearing on the radio there was a child shot? When they catch this guy(s), I'd like to see each parent of kids in that schol allowed to line up for 2 minutes of torture.

Tape could definitely be a trigger also...Last tape appears to be congratulatory and/or morale booster to the terrorists if you read between the lines.

Usama congratulated the hijackers in this same sort of fashion. This last tape appears to be old and edited to just give credit to the "youths"...almost the same words of congratulations to Atta and gang.

On a new audiotape said to be from Osama bin Laden, a male voice warns that the "youths of God" are planning more attacks against the United States.

But you forgot to mention that in the audio tape they said these attacks will be against the economy. More than likely something that will effect us like the stock market or the airline industry again. They are going to hit us where it will do the most lasting damage again.

MD 197 and US 50. The Bowie Health Center (closest thing to a hospital for at least 12 miles) is on the opposite corner of the interchange. Really close drive.

As for the bullet, and telling us, they cannot make a link to other crimes, until forensics on the bullet can only say, if it is different; so what. . .fits into 'random' as well.

I don't agree. In the suburbs, ambulance response times are like 2-3 minutes. The ambulance crew can provide all kinds of supportive measures to stem the bleeding, keep his blood pressure up, etc. In addition, the ER staff will know exactly what they have coming & will be immediately ready for it.

By driving him herself, she probably cost him 5-10 minutes of effective treatment time.

I was just reading an article in the local paper describing how Americans think the Bush Administration is focusing too much on Iraq and not enough on the economy; afraid someone in their families will lose a job within a year, etc., etc. What do these morons think will happen to our economy when terror revisits our homeland?

One part of the MO seems to be related to rush hour (as another FR poster noted). The crowds provide a confused context for escape. The shooter might even be on foot at least part of the way--the more crowded the roads and highways, the better because it gives him an ability to hide.

I've been wondering if the arrests in Oregon on Friday were in any way related to the horror in MD. Remember, those six were observed taking target practice there.
