On a new audiotape said to be from Osama bin Laden, a male voice warns that the "youths of God" are planning more attacks against the United States. But you forgot to mention that in the audio tape they said these attacks will be against the economy. More than likely something that will effect us like the stock market or the airline industry again. They are going to hit us where it will do the most lasting damage again.

You're right but this DOES have an impact on the economy...we don't live near Maryland but have
already heard from a friend who is staying home from work today to be available for her elementary school children (the news about the shooting came through before their car pool left). Another friend has cancelled an appointment with a contractor so she can meet with other parents to discuss security issues. May not seem like much but when you take it and multiply it out across the country, there is bound to be a cumulative effect.

For the past year, consumer spending has been the only thing holding up our economy. A pretty good way to keep "consumers" from spending is to keep them terrified and locked in their homes.

Shootings at strip malls would hurt the economy when people stop going to the malls. Who knows what may be next? Just an observation.
