Teddy Kennedy on Fox News arguing against war
Fox News | 9-27-02 | Teddy Kennedy

Posted on 09/27/2002 8:15:41 AM PDT by bonesmccoy

Teddy Kennedy is arguing against military intervention in Iraq. These words transcribed as he speaks... "As I said earlier, we still don't know the fate, location, or operational capacity of Osama Bin Ladin but we do know that Al Queda is still there and here. But, we don't know when where or how this will happen. CIA director has testified that Al Queda remains a serious threat to our country... even if the Taliban out of power.. Afghanistan is still fragile... our reconstruction effort is halting and inadequate...

Some operatives have faded into the woodwork...Karzai is still struggling... Pakistan is far from certain...

United Nations is far from convinced

I guess Ted hasn't read any of this: -Iraq...NBC Warfare...Terror--

Sure he has, but in his mind, that's the report about how well "Must See TV" is doing against "Survivor" and "CSI" on Thursdays.

Shouldn't they have appealed to the left last summer? It's time to start getting the independant votes now. IMO they are just digging their hole deeper. Bet they stop digging in a week or two.

You're right. Although I disagree with nearly every word, hate every bone in his body, and understand him for the cowardly puke who left a young girl to drown while worrying about his own career, I still can tolerate him far longer than either of the Clintons, Gore, Dasshole, et al. I think the reason is that his voice and cadences are exactly like his brother's, and JFK was an early hero of mine, when I was too young to know better.

He didn't even pronounce "Sharon" right; I think he said Shah-rahn instead of Shah-rohn.

That's just his Massachussetts-mumble. Gawd it sounds fake because he doesn't always do it. Just when he wants to sound impressive like John's "to the moon" speech.

As for the movie, what other military experiences can he use for comparison?

I feel like the Visitors have just gone ahead in the 8th, and I'm biting my tongue hoping our designated hitter is up next in the rotation.

Yeah, but is he sober

That must be why they scheduled him on a late morning...enough time to get dressed...before martini nooners.

...Yeah, but is he sober?...

Yes he appears to be sober. But.... he has no passion. He is reading the speech from the teleprompter as if he were talking about the weather. No passion, no conviction, no anger, no energy.

He is a coward and all the world knows it. He is alive because he is not woth killing.

"The Democrats care more about their re-election than having cogent and rational discussion on national security issues."

Now, now. That's not fair. Teddy Kennedy couldn't have a "cogent and rational discussion on national security issues" even if he DIDN'T care about his re-election. ;-)

If Tony Blair is correct, and Saddam can launch WMD in less than 45 minutes, then that's even more reason not to put OUR troops into harm's way, unless all possible diplomatic means have been exhausted.

It sounds like Teddy is suggesting that we negotiate with the terrorists in this statement. Because that is the logic when one negotiates with terrorists; talk to them and find a middle ground so no one gets hurt....when all we do in the end is compromise and compromise and then 9/11 happens.

Teddy Kennedy "If PM Blair is correct, what kind of sense does it make to put our soldiers in that kind of danger"

WHATTT!!?? is right! Isn't that like saying fighting fires is too dangerous for our firemen?
