A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

ONE OF FR's FINEST

and

THE WINNER OF THE 2001 FREEPER OF THE YEAR AWARD

JEFF HEAD
Freeper Since 07-26-98

We are pleased to honor the Recipient of the 2001 Freeper of the Year Award, Jeff Head.

Jeff Head accepted this award at FRIVA in August 2002. He received this honor due to his involvement at Klamath Falls and as a result of his work with respect to several issues associated with 9-11 which is outlined at Attack on America It memorializes the horrific events of September 11, 2001.

Jeff Head lives in Southwest Idaho with his wife of over 24 years. He is the proud father of five and the grandfather of one. He is very active in his Church and is involved with the Boy Scouts of America, helping with rafting trips and winter camps.

Jeff Head has enjoyed a successful career as an engineer in the defense,, nuclear power and computer industries for over 23 years Since 1995, he has traveled extensively overseas, including visits to the Far East, India and portions of Eastern Europe, on behalf of U.S. firms.

Jeff Head is a patriotic activist extraodinaire. His American patriotic roots run deep and he is, in fact, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Jeff Head has been very involved in a number of activities including
Pledge of Allegiance Petitition
March for Liberty and 50 Million Round March (in response to the Million Mom March)
Modern Declaration of Liberty petition
Klamath Falls
WTC Flag Raising Petition
Jarbridge NV Shovel Brigade

If you are new to Free Republic, or did not follow the Stand at Klamath Falls, I strongly urge you to read the very well written and organized account of it. Here is the link again.

US FlagCode

Jeff Head has photographs of the U.S. flag displayed upside down on his Profile Page and Web Page. According to the U.S. Flag Code, "(a)The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." So why does Jeff display the flag with the union down?

Here, in his own words, is the rationale:
"As a result of the unconstitutional acts, legislation and atrocities passed and/or committed by government agencies and officials against increaing numbers of US citizens and their life, liberty and property ... and as a result of policies that have allowed (and continue to allow) enemies of this nation to enter in large numbers through a porous immigration policy, I believe the life, liberty and property of US Citizens are in extreme and dire danger and distress."

As mentioned previously, Jeff Head is active in the Boy Scouts of America. Please visit the links below to read Jeff's excellent accounts of two major outings he went on with the Scouts. Included also are more beautiful photographs of the magnificent Idaho outdoors.

Varsity Scouting Float Trip...... "It was a marvelous scouting experience, filled with the camraderie of good, upright young men and beautiful scenery. The types of things that will always keep this nation strong."

Winter Camp....."The trip up to this Winter Camp is very beautiful and scenic. The pictures make it clear why some of us weather the cold and chose to be up here in this environment, truly a wonderful part of "God's country".

"Dragon's Fury Series"

Very nice photograph, Valerie. I love the photos you post here, but I guess I told you that already. LOL. :-)

After living with a professional photographer for so many years, I have learned to look for these three things;.....subject matter, composition and quality......and, it's all there. May I ask what camera you are using?

I almost posted a spider photo by mistake. yuk

LOL. That's okay, we'd like to see your spider photographs, maybe at Halloween? ;-)

"The Bucket Brigade, a symbolic mass action of defiance of federal policy was to protest actions taken by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service. The transfer of water to an almost dry canal was led by Jess Prosser, an 85-year-old World War II veteran who homesteaded on the Klamath Project with his son and grandson. They drew the first of 50 buckets of water from the Veterans Park boat ramp at Lake Ewauna in Klamath Falls." *

Thanks, Jeff. The federal government thought sucker fish were more important the people.

Thank you.
About 14 months ago I bought an Olympus E-10 digital camera and haven't shot a roll of film since then.
Of course the price of the camera dropped dramatically a few weeks after I bought it *L* - then they released the new E-20 camera shortly afterward. Oh well. I love my E-10. I just wish more publications would catch up to modern times and accept photo submissions on digital files instead of just slides.

Hi all. I have to apologize for taking off so quickly today. I got a call to substitute starting at 12:00 but they called me at 12:10! Anyway, I'm now just catching up on FR's Finest chat and FYI, yes, it's still sunny and beautiful weather here. :) BTW, Aquamarine, your photo of the rapeeseed field was absolutely lovely. What a nice thread today!

I'd like to thank all of you for helping me on my thread about our Houston freeper meeting to focus on the coming election.
We had a small but very enthusiastic group there, and a gentleman from the Harris County GOP was there to give us directions on how we could help.
Now we get to work to help take back our country!!

I'm very tired, but I'd like to leave you with this tonight (and to my Florida friends, you know who this is aimed at, and it's not you!)

This FL Freeper Friend enjoyed your graphic and would like to add this email sent to me by another Floridian:

OK - Here's the demographics on the South Florida voter -

They can play 10 bingo cards at a time and not miss a number.

They can juggle 53 numbers and pick 6 for the Florida Lotto, as well as select their Pick 3, Fantasy Five, and Mega Ball numbers.

They can read 5 papers, 4 scratch sheets, and handicap 3 horses
in the Tri-fecta at the horse race.

They can spot a shanked golf ball in an acre of elephant grass 300 away.

They can eyeball a non-resident in a 1,000-unit subdivision at 200 yds.

They can report a scarred manatee at 10 fathoms to the Greenpeace hotline.

They can take 37 different colored pills every morning and never mess it up.

But they can't read a 4-line ballot they've had published in the newspaper and mailed to them a week in advance and pick one candidate.

You figure it out !!!
