FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute
and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new
word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

(1) First find your join date by clicking on your profile. You can find this by clicking on your name in any thread that you posted or at the top right of any forum next to where it says My Mail and My Comments. If you go in that way you will then have to click on the link that says my profile and the date you joined will be at the top.

2) Next go to http://www.calendars.net:8194/fr_aniver

3) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.

4) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.

5) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.

6) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me an FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Beautiful graphic, Aqua. Thanks for the music too. I still haven't had a chance to troubleshoot my audio programs to find out why I can't play wavs without saving them first. I will get to it eventually. LOL.

Pip, that was a lovely, heartfelt post you made. We are glad you are here.

I, however, have to leave NOW. I just found out that my overnight company who were planning on arriving on Monday, are actually coming tomorrow! Yikes! I've got to run and get some things done.

Hey fella - good to see you here. The colorizer is a pretty neat proggie - from playing with the various colors and also the different fonts you can select.

With two freepers in the family, go ahead and get another system and network those bad boys. You two are definitely worth it.

We made good time and all appear in fine shape. We fully expect Pippin's hair will grow back in a month or so and all are sad over her unfortunate accident. Most, in fact have quit laughing.

Congratulations to our resident muy loco en la cabezas scientists larryjohnson and lodwick, to whom we are indeed are proud of their navigating us here safely, despite the mild problems of having to use michigander's badly stained chart of Lake Superior and having us headed south into icebergs that terrible day LadyX fell overboard trying to save Scuttlebutt's still. Thud is still trying to revive Scuttlebutt.

Since it is Sunday and I do have the scores from yesterday's football games and promised to not tell, I won't worry you about what happened to Tennessee yesterday. Let's just say it was tragic.
