How To Stop Democrat Voter Fraud in 2002

Critical Election Day Ballot Security Issues

In the 2000 election, questions of voter fraud by our opponents arose across the country. Because of this, we are making it our job to ensure that our opponents don’t get away with ANYTHING on Election Night 2002. That is why we are asking our County Coordinators in West Virginia to do two very specific things in addition to the normal all-day operations of our Republican poll-watchers:

1. Legally, it is necessary that one specific individual in every precinct in the State from each of the two major parties be tasked to accompany the ballot box between the Polling Place and the Courthouse—NEVER letting the ballot box out of their sight. However, experience tells us that in many cases Republican officials have been derelict in this duty--allowing Democrat officials to take the box to the Courthouse unaccompanied. To remedy this, we are asking that each County Coordinator task one reliable individual to:

a) talk to all of the Republican Precinct Poll Workers before Election Day to remind them that no ballot box can go out of the polling place to the Courthouse without escort by a Republican, and

b) that this same individual station themselves at the Courthouse on Election Night with a checklist--to ensure that a Republican shows up with each and every precinct ballot box. Any precinct that does not have a Republican escort should immediately be suspect and open to possible challenge.

2. We are asking our County Coordinators to task one highly competent and reliable individual with a video camera and a tripod to set up in the tabulation area of each and every Courthouse in the State—and to leave the tape rolling from beginning to end of the tabulation process. Past history would indicate that the Democrats who run many of the tabulation operations in many of the Courthouses have allowed the tabulation areas to turn into a party atmosphere, creating a climate that is open to abuse of the counting process. Our experience also is that the presence of a running camera almost automatically creates a serious and secure environment for this most critical of processes.

This same individual, or the County Coordinator, should inform Courthouse officials and/or law enforcement before Election Day—making sure they understand that it is legal and right for us to do so.

I went to a campaign kick off type thing for McConnell and Geoff Davis (running against Ken Lucas in the House) today. I spoke with the people in charge of their office about being a poll watcher and was told to contact them again in October.

The woman said they need people desperately. A man nearby overheard that and he volunteered too.

B) Once Republicans of all stripes are elected, watch their actions carefully, and apply maximum pressure when needed.

We're at point B, unfortunately.

My partner's got a powerful little unit that uses a cell phone.

Glad to hear it. And there are some newer cell phone models that will send emails themselves.

I almost signed up to work the polls, then found out it was a 12 hour minimum shift.

As a poll worker or a poll watcher? 12 hrs. is pretty standard for a poll worker. In my town the poll workers resent the poll watchers because they see the watchers working shorter shifts. They don't seem to understand that the workers get paid and the watchers are volunteers.

The only exception that I have ever known was 30 years ago in California when the used to hire a supplementary crew to come in at closing and help count the paper ballots. That often was an all night ordeal with all the Propositions. I used to do take that duty because I could leave the children with their father after work and join the counting crew at 7 PM. It was not unusual in a Presidential election to not get home until 4 or 5 in the morning -- and this was for a neighborhood precinct, just a few city blocks.

I have never seen a split crew in any other state where I have lived. This is why the poll workers are usually elderly folks. I've watched at some polls where the workers couldn't even count straight. I guess the reasoning is that with enough people counting and checking, the results will be accurate. But is sure seems like a dangerous way to run a country!

Good deal!

There will be info at the meeting in Clarksburg about it tomorrow, too.

You coming?

Not allowing them to vote might work, but I dunno if you can get it to fly.

No argument from me---but the price of liberty is still eternal vigilance.

The woman said they need people desperately. A man nearby overheard that and he volunteered too.

This is one of those times when the leadership is going to have to rise up from the bottom--cause this isn't going to get done from the top down.

It's lead, follow, or get out of the way time. Rank and file Republicans are going to have to rise up in the next 45 days and make it happen, or it won't happen--that's the bottom line.

Huh?

We want every eligible voter to be able to vote--once, and fairly.

Huh?

The question was, 'how do you make democrats vote fairly.' My answer is the satirical way of saying, 'can't be done.'

it's a little j-o-k-e, though there may be in fact a certain amount of truth to it.

Capital punishment? ;-)

But seriously, that's a tough question. If the State and Counties were doing their job, that shouldn't happen...if they aren't---who knows.

College campuses are ripe for this. I've heard of college kids voting at their homes and also at college. I'm sure there's many other ways to vote multiple times.

I'm sure of it. It was interesting listening to debate in the Iowa House when the Rs were trying to implement safeguards for the voting process.

I figured the best way to figure out where fraud was most likely to occur was to listen to what the Ds fought the hardest.

When it came to requiring a photo ID with proof of address, the Ds went nuts. One of their claims was that it was unrealistic to expect college kids to prove where they live as they can move many times during a year.

That tells me college kids can be counted on to cheat.

Point well taken--your comments about the debate in the Iowa House are very interesting.

Guess I don't have a solution readily at hand--perhaps some of the brilliant minds around here will come up with something as this discussion continues.

Without a doubt, some of the problems we face are going to take a very long time to fix--but the more Republicans we elect, the more likely we are to be moving towards solutions.

Orange County California here...

Been just a bit of Dem hanky-panky there recently--do you know what the Republicans are doing to stop it this time around?
