A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

It's A DOG'S World
"I am the proud owner of a 2 yr old Mini Daschund named Sadie. I am an animal lover - dogs mainly; hence my screen name. The name I wanted was taken....Mad Dog....LOL!"
Dog
FReeper since 01-05-00 New Mexico
The photo above is the only picture Dog has online, but what fun it was to put him in other places! Look at him below! He should have been a young man living in the 40's instead of now; the ZOOT SUIT was made for him! (pictured below with FReeper HiJinx in a 40's Fashion Thread posted at the Canteen earlier this year)
Dog was one of the first males to join The Guild; since he's always loved researching and investigating things, it made him an ideal candidate for the Men's Auxiliary group of the Investigative Guild. See his photo below, relaxing in Howlin's family room, where the group met every day.
Currently, Dog's favorite thread is America, the Right Way, and though you will find him there most every day, he still makes time to browse FR for other threads offering the latest news, or humor (people need to laugh more nowadays, he says).
Dog ISN'T an Elvis fan, IS a Bush fan (oops! he didn't want me to mention that. LOL....too late! It's okay though, because this is a Bush friendly thread), and he told me that Elian was the reason he came out of lurker mode and became an active FReeper.
I guess we can say, "Thank you, Elian and God Bless you." And to you, Doggie, I say for all of us......
You're one of FR's Finest!

"But we 'are' your faves."
Of course, we are. We're the cutest hooligans on Free Republic.
"Or *I* am, anyway"
I thought she liked me best. :)
What do you mean about taking me to the tree to train me? Now we know the problem; girls do not go to the trees or fire hydrants. I had a joke but lost it. :( Probably a good thing or we would have been in the corner again. LOL

Hi, Amy! You REALLY get up early! Awww, don't cry, little one. Would you like some chocolate milk and a cookie? (Lori's not here yet, so she won't take it away from you.) :) No, I missed out on the cookies, the donuts and the fun this morning. Too late to try to play ketchup now. :-(
Another very nice tribute today, Billie. Of course, they are ALL nice! Sorry it took me so long to get here. I've had appointments all day.
BTW Dog, I also have a miniature doxie ...... well, he started out a mini but now the little chow hound has exceeded the AKC 10 pound weight limit for a mini. I've never seen a dog put away the food like this one. LOL!
This photo was taken while he was still trim and lean. :-)

I think I'm going to see if I can doctor up my profile page some more.

Well, you've got a good start on it.
Louie is the one who inspired me to do my page up and he is responsible for most of the images on it. Louie has been the inspiration for many nice profile pages on FR. :-)

Sniff no further...

Totally unsolicited advice but - cut back the chow. It will work for the little sweetie.
Tough love sorta thing. We've got one that's in the same predicament, and it is my fault. Good luck with it. ;-)

...Only if you're alone or with somebody. ;^) LOL!! Actually, you know, my fondness for Margaritas has been greatly exaggerated by a certain wolf. LOL!! (Although I will admit, it is hard to pass up when we do Mexican food after the rallies.) ;-)
Howdy Ma'am. Bet you and JK are pretty busy with senior pictures, eh?
And how! He has had back to back sittings for the past two weeks, and it won't slow down for another 10 to 12 weeks. Well, you've got to make hay while the sun shines. :-)

Good luck with it. ;-) The problem is, this is the first dog I have had that LOVES dog food! He gets very few hand-outs, maybe an egg once in awhile. I know that for dachshunds too much weight is very bad for their back. He would be much heavier if we allowed him to eat more than we do. I guess it is a trait of doxie's to love their food. It's just so hard when he looks at me with that "I'm starving" look in his eyes. :-(

I want to thank everyone for making the thread fun today....this meant so much to me....but I have to sign off now I have a 3 am wake up call..
Thanks again everyone....:-)

Oh boy, don't those look good, Amy? Think we can talk everyone into Mexican tomorrow night?
I guess we better not. Sheila likes to go to different places. I guess we should occasionally let other people choose the restaurant. LOL!
