Don't bother looking for any help from Bush. This type of article brings a smile to his face while for those of us not on our knees for Karl Rove, it brings a shudder.

Census figures show that one out of every nine residents is now foreign-born. Is this true?
To: FreedomFarmer
Unfortunately, yes, it is true. About 11% (or one out of nine) are foreign-born.

Hey, thanks for the ping to this thread. As if my day weren't bad enough I have to read this too. I guess I'll go buy some more ammo, maybe I'll start to feel better.

It's going to blow like a volcano when it goes. At work I had to cool down some employees just today. I have to tell you the temptation to just let em rip was almost overwhelming.

Real resistance must start now. People have got to speak up. I'm not talking about writing our "representatives". I'm talking about our own personal sphere of influence. For instance, when people speak spanish or another language in your presence, say "don't you know it's rude to speak a foreign language in front of someone that doesn't understand it? It's like whispering secrets". Or something to that effect.
They won't become good citizens of this country until they have respect for this country. They won't respect this country if they don't respect the people. And they won't respect the people until they give them standards to live up to.

What has the % historically been? As a first generation American, I would be interested in that %.
To: gubamyster
this November, Denver and several other Colorado counties designated as bilingual counties must print election ballots in English and Spanish; the Department of Justice has ordered Harris County, Texas (which encompasses Houston) to start providing ballots and voting materials in Vietnamese. American's are in a serious coma, and may never wake up....

I tell them "This is America and we speak English here". I always get a dirty look from them like I just spit in their face or something. They are rude, obnoxious, and really just don't give a damn about this country. All they want to do is rape it of everything we've spent the last 200+ years developing. I just wonder once they turn it into a third world sh*thole where they're going to go then.

That's us, English as a far distant language, behind spanish, french, arab, farcie, samallie, russian, chinese, pig latin, greek and several middle european and Asian languages. English will be last in a few years.

"Census figures show that one out of every nine residents is now foreign-born. The response from politicians? Many are signing up for Spanish lessons. They should be telling immigrants to sign up for English lessons."HA!!
Now tell me: is that playin' the room, or what?
Ya can't say I'm a tin-foiler, either; the name won't stand-up to close examination.
~& I sure didn't write this piece.
Can't quite figure out what *I'm* "classified" as, anymore.
A "Racist" -- as my fellow countrymen have accused?
Perhaps a "Xenophobe" -- as some nincompoop bird-brain just called me the other day?
Or is it just plain ol' "Screwed" -- which, although not a "formal" enough classification to suite even the lowliest of the intellectual elitests amoung us?
"Is" nonetheless, exactly how it's starting to look more & more lately, eh?
...read it & weep, kiddies; &, welcome to our future.

The Anglo has no place in America today! As a matter of fact the USA is fast heading in the direction Russia just traveled and maybe even faster than we think. We have gutless, self centered politicians who would sell their wives and daughters for power and money. It is about time to take a stand of some kind.We as citizens are having our rights taken away daily and those in power are catering to aliens. My days are numbered but I hate like hell to leave this mess for those I love. I no longer feel any obligation to my hame state because they have taken my right to defend myself away and my Central Government is selling the rest of them to the highest bidder! And by the way who do you think it will be up to when it comes to fighting the war, look at the faces in Afganistan. They are willing to die to protect this crap here at home.

It's like whispering secrets". Or something to that effect. My father, one of the most racist pigs I've ever known used to get mad when hearing people speak foreign languages. He would say the usual....."You're in America! Speak English!" Not to them, but to anyone around who would listen.
I think your idea if flawed. Dad always did it because he's a racist pig. I think most people would assume that is why ANYONE is doing it.
