A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Oh, NO! The Stage is Empty!
Hope you won't be disappointed, but we're doing something a little bit different today. On the other hand, since many of you have already seen the graphics being posted today, you can just skip right on down to the visitin' part and .... well .... visit! :)
Several FReepers.....well, ok, some FReepers..... have asked when and if I would post some of my drawings of the Bushes and Reagans again, and I didn't have a new profilee ready to go today, and it was my turn to 'do' the thread, so........this is the day they give drawings away. (Feel free to save and/or do whatever you want with them, except please don't put mustaches on them)

Well, who would have thunk it. Sounds a bit like the way my hubby does "boiled" corn. He cleans it and puts butter and salt on the ears, wraps them in Glad Wrap and pops them in the microwave for 3 minutes. Tastes great.

..Sounds a bit like the way my hubby does "boiled" corn. .. Corn is also very good if you just pull back the husks, wash and get rid of the "hairs", and put some butter on it, pull the husks back over, tie the end and microwave that way. The husks give it a wonderful flavour.

I think he started out doing them that way, but then he got lazy. I think he decided they were harder to clean that way. Who knows why he changed his methods? He does the cooking, so I don't ask.

When I was 10, a neighbor gave me a goat named Nancy, who loved to play.
Her tenure was rather brief, one day my Dad stepping out the back door and not seeing her at top speed, head down, aiming for his backside!!!
Before the sun set, she had been replaced by five bantam hens and a rooster..:)))

..Y'all have to come to Maryland someday and try the REAL Old Bay seasoning in a CRAB FEAST!.. That is very attractive. I have seen many of these on the 'cooking' shows on tv. It looks so tasty and like so much fun when done right on the shore.
Many years ago we used to go diving for crab and abalone here along the coast of CA. Then we would barbecue or boil them over the open fire, right there on the rocky beach.

ROTFLOL!! That is too funny. Another connection. When I was a little girl, my classmates called me Nanny Goat. I hated it so much that for years and years I hated my name and wanted to change it. LOL check your mail.

The beach part sounds good to me. Sometimes I miss the Fla. beach (but not enough to go back there).
